It's difficult when other queer people underestimate the consequences of coming out for an individual from different circumstances (religion, class, ethnicity, etc.) and encourage that person to confront their family.

I totally agree with on that. From the moment Kazem's uncle becoming a reoccurring to frequent part of the cast, I knew his life was gonna gain some unneeded drama. He's essentially in a lose-lose situation at this point and Korn, Cora, and Olive don't seem to see the full reasons why he's afraid to come out. Hopefully this situation might have a positive conclusion along the horizon.

Y’all are crazy as hell telling kazeem to tell his uncle. Lol as a “middle eastern” gay who has yet to come out to that side of my family. That shit is hard. Because it is more than likely the kiss of death to all those relationships. It’s rough. & being bi don’t mean anything either. There is no part of being queer that is accepted by the general middle eastern population. And make that x100 if they happen to be Muslim also. The real mistake kazeem made here was allowing his family to be in such close radius to his personal life. Sucks to say but it’s true. Only way I’ve been able to live open & gay as hell was by moving away from the state my family is in. They can be updated over the phone with any updates that I need to share with them. My advice to any queer middle eastern / Muslims out there. DONT COME OUT; until you’re of age, completely independent, and do not need your families assistance for anything. Then if you’re ready and want to, come out. (But be prepared) I know that sounds dramatic but it’s serious. I’ve seen lives ruined and ended because of this.

Too much. Just too too much. First off, Hasan how the fuck did you not realize Olive was gay after all the considerable amount of time you've been around him and your nephew?! It was super damn obvious! I knew this "subtle" come out plan was gonna have a downside. And I know coming out to family isn't easy at all, (hell I still haven't fully come out to mine) but Kazem you can't keep doing this to yourself. At some point you have to do what's best for yourself not your family or so called boyfriend. And one step is to politely set boundaries with your uncle. Though the sad aspect of Kazem is that he's lonely and has a bad love life cause he's his own greatest hindrance.
