This is one of the few episodes I think Zhu Li's voice actor really got to shine. She only had a couple lines the whole episode but they all really popped! Listen to 4:07, she does a really good job pronouncing the panicked emotion.

In the show and real life, the cannon/weapon are almost identical, both using two sets of railroads to move and the size being relatively the same.

It feels like we have a lot of characters we’re supposed to care about, from Korra’s Team Avatar, to Tenzin and his kids, to the Beifong family, even Kai and the other airbenders. That’s not even mentioning how we have to care about Kuvira as a villain. ATLA had team Avatar, Zuko and Iroh, and Team Firelord + Azula. You could make the small case of Hakoda, but altogether it’s like 11 characters that we care about in ATLA vs like 20 in Korra. It just feels really bloated, and like you said, it makes the timing of these character moments disconnected from the story. I just think if you stick to Korra’s Team Avatar, Tenzin, and Lin, you could have a stronger, centralized cast that we truly care about, instead of half-heartedly caring about like 20 characters.
