Overanalyzing Avatar: Sokka's Master (Youtube Version)

Posted this on YouTube too but I didn’t want it to get buried in comments there. Buuuuut. I personally don’t mind the fact that it’s just two days. I think the fact that Sokka has already been through a lot of fights with the gaang would make a lot of the lessons an “ohhhh okay” kinda reaction for him. But more than that I like it because I think it’s saying that Sokka really is special too. The gaang has THE avatar, who is mastering the elements faster than any before him, Katara, who was a self taught bender (which I can’t imagine was easy) then nearly instantly mastered it when given a teacher, and Toph, a BLIND bender who is THE most powerful earth bender. All prodigies. Sokka picking this stuff up so quickly shows he’s a prodigy too.

I'm not too sure why she would need to be, narratively speaking. Is there any action, other than her being extremely nimble, that would imply this theory is correct? I personally do not think so, and would therefore also argue that it would not add anything of significance to the character of Ty Lee, as far as The Legend of Aang is concerned at least.

I've got a few criticisms. The first is that snow IS ice, just individual crystals instead of one unified sheet. The second, is how you suggested the castle was the large structure on the right side of the screen, but the actual castle is on the left on the cliff, which is further proven when we see the castle only has low hills, instead of the actual mountain next to the other structure. At 5:47 it sounds like you meant to say "how did you get there Iroh", but we only heard "get there Iroh", so working under the assumption you asked how he got up there, I think he would have used the horizontal bars on the cell as a ladder, then grabbed onto the top bars, found some space, then swung his feet to the top bars. And so what there's a full moon! Let Yue shine some light and help Sokka make his sword! The moon gets a pass this time, you've been overruled!

I'm sorry i'm commenting this here but someone might appreciate it, i just watched the avatar returns again, and something OA didn't comment on is the fact that after Katara and Sokka rescued Aang, Katara attempted to waterbend at the firenation, she accidentaly froze Sokka instead, but at that point she learned a new trick, she turned around and froze the firenation, such cool visual storytelling man, fucking amazing.
