Hi guys!
Here’s a portrait study I made today. It’s not the same as the portraits I painted so far because I always start with a sketch. This picture is made with big forms from the start. If you’re interested I can post the time lapse with the (sometimes funny looking) process 😁
This new type of study was great for me today because I needed some distraction. I’m so nervous about the course release! 😅 I know that worrying in advance is neither healthy nor necessary, but that's how my brain works. I’m so afraid that it will be a huge disappointment ☹️ I try to fight those thoughts and explain to myself that for sure there will be good and bad reviews. That it’s completely natural. Some people will be happy and learn something, and others may be disappointed because they expected something else... At the same time I did the best I could. It was my first time in front of the camera. I’m not an actress or even an outgoing person. I’m not a professor of fine arts. I’m just a regular person and a self thought artist when it comes to the portrait drawing. I did everything I could in this new situation.
I really hope that in a month or two I’ll read this and think “See? It wasn’t so bad! You had nothing to worry about!” but at the moment I just have to go through it and try to think about all the amazing, positive things that are happening now ✨
Do you have any ways to practice mindfulness and not-worrying-so-much? Or maybe you’re not the overthinking type of person as I am? 🙃
Hugs 🧡 Gaby
