Hi!
I hope you’re having a great week 😊
Here’s an experiment based on the reference from Yoana 🤗 You can send your references on Discord and I’m gonna use them in my monthly sketches with step by steps 👾
It’s not in any of my usual styles (or color palettes) but it was very interesting to test mixing media this way! 🎨 That’s what sketchbooks are for, right?
1. PENCIL SKETCH & GOUACHE BACKGROUND
At first I thought it will be just usual pencil sketch but then I decided to go further and add this bluish background. I used these 3 colors of Holbein Acryla Gouache mixed into one:

2. WATERCOLOR SKIN
Then I thought that I’ll use ink but changed my mind again 😂 and painted the whole head with watercolor base. Not with gouache cause I wanted it to be kinda transparent. Then I improved the sketch with colored pencil ("Poppy red"). I like this stage ✨

3. PRISMACOLORS
I shaded the planes of the head with "Poppy red" and added darker details with "Tuscan red". I think I could leave it at this point but eventually I added also yellow to create warm light and a bit of blue for shadows.

Final piece:

Let me know if you like to experiment with media in a spontaneous way and what are the results 😁🙌
Hugs 🧡 Gaby
