Hello my dear Potato Angels! 🥰
Here's the Step by Step with mixed media studies based on your references. Recently I just threw out all the markers and other rarely used supplies from the drawer to experiment. I just love sketchbooks and having fun like this 🥼
1. PENCIL SKETCHES
I started with pencil sketches because I didn't know what I would do next ✨ I just wanted a base for further exploration. I used Pentel Graphgear - mechanical pencil with 2B lead and Talens Art Creation Sketchbook.

2. ORANGE HIGHLIGHTER
I didn't used highlighters since I quit my office job. I used orange to start with Timothée study ⭐It's a fluo underpainting. Cool huh? 👌 Then I used kneadable eraser to erase the pencil a bit. Look at the "transfer print" on the eraser, hehe.
3. BRUSH PENS
I used pastel pink Koi brush pen and Lilac Faber-Castell to block some values.

4. BALLPOINT PEN
I used this ballpoint pen I bought in Miniso to correct the outlines. Also green Faber Castell marker to add some more values - shadows.

5. MARKERS
I added gray to desaturate and "calm down" the vivid colors a bit. Also added the dusty pink Promarker to show skin tone but I'm not sure if it was necessary.

6. GOUACHE
I used Holbein Acryla Gouache and a very thin brush on this one :)

7. MESSY PEN
I used the pen again to draw the contours. It smeared a little so instead of a naked arm (as on the reference) I drew fabric with a pattern of small flowers. Also the background on the left was messy so I covered it with gouache.
Improvise. Adapt. Overcome 😎
PS. Sorry fot the sausage fingers lol.

8. PRISMACOLORS
In this, I wanted to use the contrast of warm and cool tones. I wanted to draw blue glasses and the rest in warm shades. I used these two crayons (Pale Vermillion and Cerulean blue). Then I added a blue watercolor to the glasses.

9. WATERCOLOR AND GOUACHE
I blocked the general colors with watercolors. I had some leftovers of gouache on the palette and I didn't want them to go to waste, so I painted the background with them.

Thank you so much for the references!
Let me know how do you like these sketches 🤓
