No milestone left unturned

Hey folks!

Another week and another newspost - we've made it to two in a row!

Thank you everyone who has tuned in to our new show Stellar Firma - the initial reception has been fantastic. And there's two more episodes to come this week! As a quick reminder, if you are enjoying the show, please, please remember to leave a review on whichever podcast platforms you can - those are critical to the success of new podcasts, particularly in increasing visibility to new audiences.

Last week, I said I'd talk more about our milestones, notably because, thanks to all of your amazing generosity we blew through those way quicker than we expected to! So thank you ever so much from all of us at Rusty Towers - your support is helping us put things into place behind the scenes to be able to put out more great content, not least because we can pay our performers, producers and editors something for their time.

Anyway, we haven't forgotten that with those milestones, came some projects...

For the $2k milestone, we promised to start work on a Patreon-exclusive audio-drama and a tabletop RPG system. Well, I can confirm that both of those are in the works!

Ensemble (working title) is a new RPG setting-neutral system that aims to recreate the feeling of those episodic TV dramas (e.g. Buffy, Game of Thrones, Sliders) we are familiar with. The design team consists of Ben Meredith, Sasha Sienna, Anil Godigamuwe & Jonny Sims, all of whom have extensive gaming experience, with work well underway. We currently have the framework of the core mechanics and are working hard to get it into playtestable form.

As for the audio-drama, I can announce that we have commissioned Freaks' Rollcall from Manchester-based writer Tom Critch. This is a 6-part, dark comedy serial looking at 'care in the community' for beings of a supernatural nature. Pre-production worldbuilding is nearly complete, with the first scripts expected soon. No delivery date as yet, but we should know fairly soon.

As for $4k, well, that's the realm of video, and Video Manager Mike LeBeau has been hard at work on upgrading our video equipment and planning the kinds of content we can create. Discussions are still ongoing, but expect it to include a little of everything as we test the waters of video production. You'll have seen a little of it already with the charity livestreams and the whistlestop tour of the studio, so you can expect more behind-the-scenes stuff as part of that, including something called Rusty Bits... (ooohh). But more on that another time.

And here's what you can expect from us this week (all shows release at 4pm UK time):

Mon 18th February - STL003 - Gods and Trousers (Patreon)
Tue 19th February - RQG118 - Pop (Patreon); STL003 - Gods and Trousers (Public);
Wed 20th February - MAG127 - Remains to be Seen (Patreon); RQG118 - Pop (Public)
Thu 21st February - STL004 - Bowels and Dogs (Patreon); MAG127 - Remains to be Seen (Public)
Fri 22nd February - STL004 - Bowels and Dogs (Public)

Have a great week folks!
