SAME!

The episode that started it all for me! A sound on TikTok used the voice lines from Nikola and I looked up what it was from and ended up getting hooked on this podcast!

We finna ignore the pit 💜

RedCanary

well what do you expect when you literally name a town "mouth"

Rurrie

Not gonna lie, when Nicolla said "don't worry, I used all the bits!" I actually laughed way harder than I should've.

I've finally caught up with audio from this YouTube Short that featured Nikola's voice at the end!! I'm a few years late now but so happy I encountered that video and was introduced to the Magnus Archives :)

There's a glitch/editing error at around 4:30 ("So when I got chatting to Tommy in a bar" ended up as "So when I got chatting to Tar"), which appears to be there in all sources (here, streaming, YouTube). I've fixed it up using clips from elsewhere in the same episode, you're all welcome to it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g9icgciqt2n1l3k/3-18%20MAG%2097_%20We%20All%20Ignore%20the%20Pit.mp3?dl=0

I live and work in Seattle and was excited that your story has reached our dreary PNW backdrop! I used to regularly take a Greyhound from Seattle through Olympia, Chehalis (Che-hey-liss) and various other small, Washington logging towns on my way to Portland to visit an old boyfriend. Some of those towns we would pass through were very much as you described. Well done! Although, I would say that our most pervasive monster is all of the green moss that grows everywhere--our sidewalks, our streets...it creeps up the sides of buildings and can even be found on top of our cars!

Thanks!

The town is Bucoda, WA

I work in Olympia so this hit close to home. Is the town Pagoda or Dakota? I listened a few times but I couldn't discern the name. Castle Rock is to the south towards Portland, about 3/4s of the way betwixt Olympia and Portland... I know western Washington like the back of my hand (boon of being a street sweeper) but there are numerous hidden towns that you will never find unless you get lost and then you can never find them again

Jon, seriously, you work at the Magnus Institute and you don't see an opening to a horror film waiting to happen? For shame, Archivist. For shame. Plus akdkakak moment, well done, where I actually gagged at the thing in the Pit. Well done, friends.

Wren Griffin-Harrigan

This is the first episode that gave me an actual audible reaction in the form of a noooooooo with the arm getting stuck and the....thing inside the hole.

Kaitlin Conner

Oohhooh, nice one! And very intriguing to hear more and more people from the Mechanisms. A really fitting choice here too.

Alexandra Krzoska

I loved this one! Probably the scariest statement you've done in a while, and the introduction of Nikola was phenomenal. She wasn't at all what I was expecting, in the best way possible.
