The wheels keep turning

Happy Monday!

Best wishes to all of you out there, hope you're keeping safe and have any necessary support mechanisms in place to get you through these difficult times. I'm safely back in the UK after my trip abroad, though it was definitely somewhat surreal arriving at a very empty airport and making my way home through London on what would normally have been a bustling Friday night.

So, how is Rusty Towers faring? Well, the crew are generally well and in good spirits, with most of us working from home. COO Hannah has been hard at work preparing plans and new procedures to ensure that we can weather this period, and I'm pleased to say that we're looking in good shape. We are committed to standing by the crew, and, as any need arises, we have support plans and production safety nets to keep on running.

Suffice to say, though, we are temporarily closing the RQ primary studio for group recordings. The Stellar Firma satellite studio will continue to operate, though with new protocols in place. And both Mike and I will continue to host RQ Streams from our respective studios.

With regards to our audio shows, we have a healthy backlog of recordings - part of the advantage of working the way we do, as well as the benefits of some new infrastructure we put in place at the beginning of the year. As things proceed, we will be pivoting towards remote recording for ensemble shows, and - all being well - there shouldn't be much change in what you hear. Everything will continue to be produced to the same high quality you've come to expect from a Rusty Quill production.

I can also assure you there are no plans to delay the start of Season 5 of The Magnus Archives. Get ready for the trailer releasing tomorrow, and then we'll find out how the horror unfurls come Thursday 2nd April (or a day earlier for early access Patrons)! Hold tight, because we've got quite a journey ahead of us...

With everything that is going on, we're aware that many folks are going to be at home and looking for more entertainment, which is why we're going to try and make sure you're aware of what the crew and various RQ Friends are up to as well - so keep an eye on our Twitter/Facebook/Discord in particular for details of streams or other activities.

Plus, we are looking at what additional RQ content we can bring you during this time! We're working on a - realistic & sustainable - plan for bonus goodies that we can do to keep everyone's spirits up. More details to come as soon as we've worked them out.

I am really pleased that we have, broadly speaking, such a friendly & supportive community, and we want to make sure that we can do right by you all as well, so we'll be working on some new community initiatives and activities to get folks involved.

And a quick reminder that, probably the quickest way to find out about things going on and taking part, is either by following our Twitter (@therustyquill) or by joining like-minded fans on the official Discord server (though be sure to check out the #rules channel first to familiarise yourself with the Community Guidelines).

In other news, I am extremely pleased to announce that on the back of the RQ Streams project, we are now a Twitch Affiliate! This means you can now subscribe to us on Twitch and offer your support through there. Being a Twitch sub will mean ad-free viewing on the VODs and access (hopefully soon) to some new emotes with which to express yourselves in chat! Obviously there is no obligation to do so, we're just very grateful, however you choose to support us.

Naturally, and especially given current uncertainties, we do urge that folks are financially responsible in their support - we fully understand & support you if you have to reduce or even cancel your Patreon/Twitch sub.

Oh, and talking of other streaming things we're gonna be doing - Rusty Quill will be supporting & participating in the Gehenna Gaming Convention, taking place online over the weekend of 4-5th April! More details on this next week.
