IMO, introductions are just one major spoiler and should be placed at the end for when you're done reading the thing and have time for a little quiet contemplation. I read this introduction for a translation of The Mabinogion that I got for my birthday a couple of years ago and regretted it deeply. Fast forward to the end of 2020 and I still haven't finished the rest of the book. Never say you're sorry, Helen.
