Rings, rails and retrospectives

Hi folks,

Happy Monday from all of us at Rusty Towers! Not a lot to update you all on this week, as we get ready for the imminent return of Stellar Firma for Season 3 on 4th December and all the preparations for our big 24hr charity livestream event, RQ: Gaming & Giving on 12-13th December!

One piece of Crew news, as we welcome a new resident of Rusty Towers, and welcome Hattie Quinlan as a new Marketing Assistant! She will be helping CMO Callum Dougherty as we aim to improve our marketing activities all round in 2021, particularly as we deal with more third parties and look to launch new shows.

Meanwhile, in the theatre where our feature presentation of The Magnus Archivesis playing, the curtain is trembling, fluttering in anticipation of closing Act II of Season 5, this Thursday (or Wednesday for early access). An interval, a respite, a chance to relax.

Six weeks in which to ponder what the final eleven episodes have in store. But not six weeks entirely devoid of content. As I’ve mentioned previously, we still have some goodies to fill this season break. We kick off with a cast retrospective, looking back at nearly 5 years of The Magnus Archives and some of the crew’s favourite moments. This will be followed up later in the break with an episode of some choice commentary from Jonny and Alex themselves.

And after the popularity of the Duskhollow session during the Season 4 break, we bring you another roleplaying special as Jonny, Lowri, Lydia and Ben head out on an adventure… Then we round out the break, with one last trailer to set the scene, before we gather wits and whetted appetites for the final Act, as it resumes on 14th January 2021.

Two other bits of news to round this out:

- Stay tuned to our social media this week as we start gearing up for RQGG20 proper, with news about who we’re supporting and special guests to come on this 24hr extravaganza. Plus, Mike will be reacting & reminiscing to clips from charity shows past this Saturday on his regular RQ Streams show!

- The first three parts of the One Shot Podcast special, Hammer of the Earth, featuring Ben Meredith, Sasha Sienna, Jonathan Sims and myself are now out (Parts One, Two & Three)! Recorded to showcase our game in upcoming title The Ultimate Micro-RPG Book, tune in to hear our worldbuilding and adventurous journey to save our civilisation-train from encroaching doom.
