ARE THERE ONLY 10 EPISODES LEFT?????? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! This was fun! Glad to see Melanie and Georgie being Final Girls 😂

Rurrie

Ooookay, that is not where I saw Melanie and Georgie's story going. If the Admiral doesn't have his own cushioned altar, I will be cross.

Issendai

'...their eyes...watching him, piercing him with their wounded humanity' - us all staring at Jonny waiting for the final act of s5

*chanting* CULT CULT CULT CULT CULT ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

jon reaching the climactic set piece tower and then immediately freaking out before getting yanked below the stage through a trap door; god bless lol also the cowardly politician from an only nominally left party clearly has a rich inner life and a tragic past and reasons for being the way he is but also fuck that guy I have no earthly idea how this series is gonna end and I also completely trust that whatever it does will be amazing; looking forward to the last 11 eps next year.

Alex

THIS WAS SO AMAZING CAN SOMEONE TELL MARTIN ID DIE FOR HIM

Clem

I loved this! My girls are back! I love my girls! Cult time!!!!!!!

gojo fujoshi

As excited as I am to see these girls again (SO EXCITED) , I am struck by how there are so many uncomfortable parallels between the minister in the statement and Jon. You could almost say they're peers.

Kate Sparrow

Not gonna lie, the fact Jon just read the Minister's uncomfortable statement and we follow up with the cult, I'm not so sure Georgie and Melanie won't be feeling the same thing. It's gonna probably be a point of contention for Jon specifically.

Kat

I know I should say something about the episode, but I'm stuck on the fact that January 14 is only 6 weeks away.

Marie

my first thought when they said people “thought they were special” was cult so yeah thanks for validating me

giantenemykat

triple?

giantenemykat

Damn, Alex’s performance in this one... give that man something, he’s brilliant

Matthew Riverwood

I’m👏🏼Fucking👏🏼Crying👏🏼 They’re back!!!!

James White

imma go outside and scream incomprehensibly for a bit. Save a seat at the government bloodsport arena. Excellent episode all around.

Anna S

Good job on the triple pun title

GugTheGoose

GIRLS ive heard of them

lare

So happy to have Melanie and Georgie back right before hiatus!! Such a good episode

Natalie

Admiral!!!! The funny part is there’s actually a cult of the admiral already existing here in the real world. We want The Admiral!!! Also it’s great to hear Melanie’s back to her snarky self again. I missed her and Georgie. 💜

THE GIRLS ARE BACK IN TOWN

Deneb

Not liking the theme of this statement being “becoming comfortable in your power and too scared to do anything to save the people you set out to save in the first place because what if it doesn’t work” in regards to Jon trying to back out of the “kill Jonah” plan

Bailey Wind

The majority of the cult’s attention actually goes to the Admiral

Bailey Wind

Excuse me but...WHERE IS THE ADMIRAL! WHERE IS MY SWEET BOY! I WANT TO HEAR MY LITTLE MAN!

non-euclidian weasel

I've said this before, but this podcast's ability to PACK meaning into dialogue is superb. Please put Scriptwriting and Dialogue Masterclass on the behind the scenes wishlist. What a good episode, yet again

Lurkin

Okay this was AMAZING. The reunion was spot on as well as the strife before the statement was so well acted and executed, all the frustration and fear nd love, hats off to Lydia and Sasha for sounding like they'd been through hell and seen some THINGS in only one short conversation was brilliant. But the statement, oh the statement, after the last few months especially of British Politics I felt this one in my BONES. Superb.

MuddyHippy

I was so happy to hear Georgie and Melanie again!! Also glad to have the episode (and this part) end on a somewhat positive note. I couldn't help smile at that little part where Georgie, Melanie and Martin are giggling about Jon and he just sounds so happy to see them alive and well. I'm going to hold on to this positive feeling for the next six weeks.

Heather MacKenzie

THANKS FOR MY GAY RIGHTS

Crystal Wang

I'm so glad we got to hear from georgie and melanie!!! I owe this episode my life! Honestly was really hoping we'd get to hear from them before the 6 weeks so I'm just.. so!! happy!! The back and forth between jon and martin was quite interesting. It reveals more on how they both deal under pressure. We get to see Knife Martin and jon overthinks- which is an improvement over just smashing a table with an axe i suppose!! But I just wanted to grab them both and yell stop!! Take a minute to think this through! Martin clearly was feeling the pressure and just needs a breather :( I loved the statement!! A lot of the political statements so far have been about the right/conservatives (at least as far as im aware). So it was fun to see an opposition perspective!! The narrative that they know what its like and want to help and would go back to living that way if they had to was interesting. I mean that could be true! They could genuinely think that they mean well and fight for the people but when it came down it: they failed. Failed the people they are supposed to represent, failed the people they are supposed to fight for. Ultimately it seems to be a message of action>intent!! If your willing to compromise your golden and virtuous morals on the off chance that you might suffer for it. Those morals mean nothing. Pretty strong stance and might be a reflection of how jon feels about his actions. Observing ppls suffering and maybe thinking he wants to help but ultimately doing nothing... Anyways! Loved the ep! Enjoy the 6 week break!! 💕

YEAHHHHH BOOIIIII!!!

MELANIE AND GEORGIE 🥰🥰🥰 so happy they're back I missed these voices I was so sure when Jon was describing the Minister entering the tower that he was actually going through the same journey - that he opened the door through the statement if you will. I was sooo tense the whole time!! And then that ending was totally unexpected, this mention of a cult IS a bit concerning ngl but also if we're being honest I would sign up for this with my eyes closed. I can't wait for the next batch of episodes !! And I'm grateful the ending was exciting but not excruciating 🙏 Well done everyone

THE GIRLS!!!

Jennyclart

A horror filled apocalypse descends on the world and The Government. Doesn't. Change. Yep, that tracks. This was a surprisingly positive reunion, I expected so much more anger toward Jon from Georgie and Melanie, but I'm very happy they have some allies and that hopefully someone has a plan. Can't wait until January!

LainyJP

I cannot believe we got a statement about the fear of being a moderate liberal

Devin Goodman

Georgie having a little cult as a treat gives me this happy little soft spot that still reeks of insecurity.

Sadie Moon

so much to think about in this one! weirdly one of my favorite jonmartin episodes ever because seeing them snipe at each other while also still obviously deeply caring for each other and looking out for each other felt so realistic. so often fiction treats a couple getting together as the end point of their development and we never see either of them be in a bad mood or snap in a tense situation or argue about a difficult decision and so it makes them feel flatter whereas this felt like it really added dimension and depth and realism. and the way you could hear the genuine frustration but also the love and trust underneath it was so lovely and well done. so strangely enough one of my favorite moments. fabulous acting from everyone. I LOVE how we haven't seen melanie and georgie in so long and yet in their voices you can hear how much they've been through and how they've changed from the people we last saw. and also how much they have come to rely on each other and how they have grown as acouple too; you hear the strain but also the deep comfort in the way they communicate. the cobweb mention in the statement was....deeply concerning. and i am so interested to learn more about melanie and georgie and their relation to the eye and this 6 weeks is going to be torture but good for you guys taking the time you need. this whole episode had so much emotional complexity and was so well acted and i really really enjoyed it. great place to leave off.
