Growing pains

Hi folks,

Best wishes from all us at Rusty Quill go out to all of you. We hope that folks are staying safe, looking out for one another, and continuing to take precautions if you have to go out, for whatever reason. Community is important in the face of adversities. And community is what has got Rusty Quill to this point, as this is a something of a celebration week here at Rusty Towers.

This Wednesday – 10th June 2020 – marks the fifth birthday of Rusty Quill! That’s right, on that day in 2015, the very first episode of the Rusty Quill Gaming Podcast aired to the world, and started off this amazing ride we’re on. Not only that, but Wednesday also marks the second anniversary of the official RQ Discord Server, which has become our main community hub, growing to over 7,000 members in that short span. But also… it marks a milestone for me, as it’s going to be my 40th birthday.

To celebrate all of this in some way, we’ll be doing a special birthday stream on Wednesday, starting at 5pm BST as myself and Bryn Monroe co-host an evening of Jackbox party games with guest participation (and possibly vocal appearance) from other members of the crew! We’re still working out the shape of the event, but we hope you can join us for some merriment. 

In other stream news, apologies to folks who were eagerly awaiting the debut of Trexel and David on RQ Streams. That show is being rescheduled and will be coming out in the near future, as we thought it best not to clash with the MacGuffin & Co charity stream. And we ask that you join us this Sunday to welcome Helen Gould to the main channel as she brings a cooking stream to the channel for the first time! 

Aside from that, work is progressing on the Stellar Firma season break content, which kicks off on 19th June with a new set of outtakes & bloopers, showing what ended up on the cutting room floor for Season 2! Plus the TRPG design team are hard at work finalising the Ensemble rules into their playtest version, ready for you to take a crack at next week.
