Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone who submitted a prompt last week for the upcoming non-canon statement on The Magnus Archives public feed. Our Rusty Quill writers now have nearly 100 prompts to choose from for inspiration as they start to work on these episodes in the coming weeks. We’ve really enjoyed reading through your suggestions and can’t wait to see where our talented writers take them.
As you may know, we are always busy working on things behind the scenes. It’s very difficult to keep exciting updates and developments under wraps but finally we can share a bunch of exciting updates with you! I’m delighted to confirm two of our new projects coming to our public feeds later this year: Rusty Quill Gaming 2.0 and more Enthusigasm.
Rusty Quill Gaming is the first podcast we ever produced and we’re so proud of how far it’s come (and how far we’ve come). After more than 6 years and over 200 episodes, our main campaign of Erasing the Line is shortly coming to an exciting conclusion. Therefore, we thought it was time to tell you that we are in the process of creating another “Actual Play” podcast to live on as RQG’s successor, which we are affectionately calling RQG 2.0 as a working title but will launch with a new name and branding. Watch this space!
We released the pilot season of Enthusigasm to Patreon in October 2020. Featuring Rusty Quill cast, crew and friends, and headed up by self-proclaimed RQ Monarch, Helen Gould, Enthusigasm is a space for people to talk about what they love, whether it’s baking, Marvel movies or Lord of the Rings (it turns out that Rusty Quill really likes Lord of the Rings). We were glad to hear how much you all loved our experiment in talk show podcasting. As folks enjoyed it so much, we decided to make a longer, public season, with an extended version of each episode also available exclusively to all Patrons. The public season of Enthusigasm will be much the same as the pilot, only with more guests, more laughs and more enthusiasm! Enthusigasm launches in September. We’ve already recorded one of my episodes where we get more than a little rowdy shooting the breeze about pro wrassling. At Rusty Towers, we are looking for new ways to lift up new, marginalised or otherwise underrepresented voices in media. To that end, we’re pleased to announce we have been working on a new platform to champion short form audiodrama of 1 – 8 episodes. With this in mind, we will be opening a call for new writers with finished scripts to submit pitches for their fully short form audiodrama content. If you’re a writer and have a story you think should be told, please submit your pitches with our standard pitch template here. To fill in the template, you will have to download and save it to your device. We can only accept pitches with completed scripts and, unless there is a specific request for accessibility, can only accept pitches submitted via the form. Ideally, each episode would be twenty mins or more in length. Send completed pitch templates to mail@rustyquill.com. Please note that this will also be open to non-Patreon subscribers. Due to the volume of pitches we will receive, we will be unable to provide individual feedback on submissions. This opportunity is open until 11:59pm BST on 1st August 2021.

Taking a leap out of Horror Jail for a day... he said something about Skyrim then started laughing. If you can make out what that means, you’re doing better than us! So, tune in on Saturday 10th at 4pm BST to find out what he has in store.
PS. Heads up! After fulfilling and shipping all enamel pin orders to date, we have a few left of each design that were held in reserve in case of lost or damaged orders. This final remaining stock has now been loaded into the store. All 15 pins and the risograph print are now available on our Store Envy page for the very last time and in extremely limited quantities.

2021-07-26 08:37:55 +0000 UTCAlright, so far no one directly from RQ has responded on the discord, but a moderator says they're fairly sure that only the form is needed to be sent, no requirement of attaching the scripts. I wish you the best in getting what you can done, whether you end up pitching or not, I'm sure your idea is great :)

I'm on a tablet, so not sure what to do about that, but every way I've tried I've been unable to edit, as there don't seem to be text boxes in the Word version of the form and that's the only way I can edit on here. Might just have to insert my own and hope the format doesn't get too messed up. :')

If scripts are needed then I'm afraid I won't be able to submit anything now, as the deadline seems to have switched from the 1st September back to the 1st August, and they probably won't be completely finished by then. So you're right, would really help to know!

2021-07-22 15:26:49 +0000 UTCHey have you gotten any clarification for this? I think the answer to 1 is that yes, RQ would be producing it, and 2 is a no since I think their website says it's closed. For 3 though is a big question and I'd hate for anyone to get written off because they didn't attach their scripts when it's unclear if they're needed. I can ask around the discord if you want?

2021-07-05 18:22:24 +0000 UTCSuch exciting news! Very hype for the metacast, not ready for rqg ending 😭, but VERY excited for rqg 2.0!! 😱 I am so so so happy there will be more actual play from rq. My partner and I were just speculating about this-- it's great to hear it announced. (Side note-- I know there is a lot going on and priorities are priorities, but I would just like to state for the record that, if some cel merch designs were to come out before the finale and I could clad myself in my favorite alchemist, this fan would be very pleased)
