A taste of things to come

Hi folks,

Greetings and good tidings from all of us at Rusty Towers!

First of all, we are pleased to let you know that The Magnus Archives has been announced as a finalist for the FIYAHCON Ignyte Award for Best Fiction Podcast and we are honoured to be considered alongside the other excellent nominees. FIYAHCON is a great virtual convention centring the perspectives and celebrating the contributions of BIPOC in speculative fiction, as well as the vibrancy, diversity & excellence of the landscape. Find out more about the awards and convention here.

On the shows front, we hope you enjoyed the special appearance of Travis McElroy as Bathin, Grand Duke of Galactonium. We’re delighted he could contribute to our show, and by the warmth of reaction to the chillest of appearances. But May is fast approaching along with the exciting conclusion of Stellar Firma on 28th May! And we’re currently working on a whole heap of post-series content to bring you, including more outtakes, more science and more quizzing for Tim & Ben, including on how well they know their own show.

Talking of post-season content, there is still plenty more to come from The Magnus Archives too, as we embark on the grand asking of questions from the Season 5 mailbag in the first of a 3-part Q&A session. And this week, Jonny & Alex are also joined by Elizabeth Moffatt to talk some more about the soundscaping side of things!

Plus there’s more retrospective commentary down the line as we review some of your favourite clips from the show’s history, another episode of What the Ghost? with Georgie Barker and another TRPG special. And for Patrons, there’s still more Season 1 Deluxe Transcripts, more outtakes, plus the upcoming 2-part Lovecraftesque roleplaying adventure, featuring an all-star Magnus guest cast of Ben Meredith (Elias), Sue Sims (Gertrude), Imogen Harris (Helen) and Alasdair Stuart (Peter)!

Lastly, but by no means leastly, on Friday tune in to the penultimate episode of Inexplicables. There are still revelations a-plenty to come as we head towards the series finale… And for Noble-tier Patrons, our Discord Live event in May will feature Helen Gould talking about the show and her role as Lead Script Editor!

And here's our full schedule for this week (all shows release at 4pm BST, unless otherwise stated):

So sad to hear that Stellar Firma is wrapping up, but I can’t wait for the finale! Thanks, RQ!

I hope there's at least some talking after they get there, otherwise that's a whole lot of baggage everyone's still carrying around.

i would genuinely be SO into that =D

Congratulations on the nomination! Very excited for the Magnus content that’s coming!

plot twist: "the city" is the ursan city, and this week's ep is a side quest featuring PCs carter, barnes, sassraa, and kiko making plans to ride the Big Bear into battle in london

Lena

So many goodies this week! And congratulations to the creative team of TMA for their nomination!!

Melissa Raney

Congrats on all the cool stuff! I'll admit I'm too taken aback by the RQG title to really react to anything else. "Into the City"? What? Already? They're gonna head out now without 2-3 more episodes of talking and prepping? Unbelievable :O

sAZAndorable

Yay more Helen streams! I can't catch them live but I love catching up with them later.
