EGSM 26: Sing, O muse... (Mythology)

Comments

Lots of interesting thoughts and stories, as usual, yessss for myths as a kind of first exposure to the horror genre...

For the record, "just such a lovely way to spend my time, listening to smart people talk about interesting things." is my feeling about all Patreon episodes ever <3 This one was especially comfy and relatable personally because yeah, same on the stories-I-read-as-children :D I did do my final high school project on why similarities could be found in mythology across the world, but I basically just reached the same conclusions of "people travel" and "people being people".

Brilliant episode! Somali mythology sounds fascinating, I'll have to look some of that up. One thing that would make it even better (at least for me) would be some recommendations of where to find good versions of some of these myths. I have a small collection of folklore & myth that I'd like to expand but there's so many versions out there it would be interesting to hear which ones you guys recommend :)

I've always loved mythology and this was just so so interesting and enjoyable !!!

Amazing episode! I loved it (also as a classics student I treat listening to it as studying)

"lapsed Jungian" may be my new favorite phrase and I will def be using it in future
