EGSM 2: Eat the rude (Hannibal)

Comments

I loved this episode! Hannibal is my all time favorite show and you all talked about so many things that I adore about it. I also didn’t catch the way Hannibal changes his outfit to match expectations. That’s fascinating. I wish we had gotten to hear more from, I believe it was Tessa, on the comparison between Hannibal and Killing Eve. They’re vastly different shows but have some very similar beats.

Oh no, I’ve got to finish Hannibal first! :P Well, I’ve been trying to finish the show (which I do enjoy, I’m just bad at finishing things) since 2015, and it is spooky season, I’ll give it another shot. XD

I am going to use this episode as an example of why people should listen to this show. I have never seen an episode of Hannibal, may never watch one, but I had no trouble following the discussion, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I love listening to people explaining a thing they enjoy because they want to share the thing, not because they want to show off what they know.

Ollie of the Beholder

That was delightful, and it made me fall in love with the show all over again for its dark, clever and/or ridiculous beats <3 I had not picked up on a few things, and I especially loved the discussion about the s3 final post-credits scene - I had interpreted it as either Hannibal&Will doing it, or a next serial killer caught in the Hannibal spiral, but the idea that Bedelia did this to herself because of her self-imagined scenario (but that Hannibal will never come to that last dinner) is especially haunting with the non-existent season 4 in mind...

I haven't actually seen Hannibal but this discussion was super interesting and it's making me want to give it a shot! Love this ep :D

TheCyanStar

Some really interesting insights into a show I love. Also nice to hear some new voices xx

I've never even watched the show, and yet this was still incredibly enjoyable! Might add it to the watch list now, with added tips to watch out for costumes and so on

GugTheGoose

Oh this was fantastic!! I loved listening to everything y’all touched on. When u were talking abt how hilarious the show can be, i was waiting like “is someone gonna mention Hannibal slurping up chilton’s lip👀👀”

Perry

This was lovely and SO interesting, gave me so many new perspectives and inerpretations, and so many fun fact details I'd never noticed! Always wonderful to hear Helen talk about stories/art and how it works... and I respect Jeffrey and their enthusiasm about beautiful men so very much. Gavia was one of the first blogs I followed back when I was watching the show as it aired, it was so nice to hear her comment about the costuming again... (and I hadn't noticed that either!!)
