Part 1
Image ID: Pets of Rusty Towers, Episode 2: Oscarpus, part 1. This is a vertical, three panel comic.
In the first panel, a gentle-looking mauve octopus faces us, smiling. They are in a fish tank and musical notes and bubbles surrounding them indicate that they might be humming to themself. Text outside the panel, with an arrow pointing to the picture, says ‘Oscapus, Lowri’s cuddly octopus!’
In the second panel, we zoom out to see the wooden table that the tank sits on. There are some red RQ- and pet-themed mediaeval-style banners above it on the beige wall. Inside the tank are a decorative arch and castle. Oscapus now looks alarmed, and there are two question marks above their head.
In the third panel, we now see the tank from behind. In front of it is a big, castle-style wooden door with a hinged handle/knocker and light coming out through the keyhole. Above it is a sign, reading ‘Rusty Quill Recording Room’ and lit red neon writing either side of that, reading ‘On Air’.
To the right of the sign, at the top of the wall, is a grate with wide bars.
Creeping up to the door, on the right, are two cats. Both have yellow stars for eyes and words around them reading ‘Tip Toe’. One is black and white and has a top hat. Text outside the panel pointing to him reads ‘Bumpy, Hannah P’s cat’.
The other is grey and white, just behind him, and he wears a cheerful beanie. Text outside the panel pointing to him reads ‘Calvin, Hannah P’s cat, often found in unlikely poses’.
Part 2
Image ID: Pets of Rusty Towers, Episode 2: Oscapus, part 2. This is a vertical, three panel comic.
In the first panel, Calvin and Bumpy now are at the door. Bumpy stands on the shoulders of Calvin, who sits on his haunches, tail poking forward and left leg poking back at 45 degrees.
In a speech bubble, Bumpy says “Your strange contortions do come in handy on occasion.”
Calvin says “Yeah! You can solve any problem with Calvin Yoga! And friendship! :D “
Oscapus, now in the bottom left, has a pose of alarm and two exclamation marks over their head.
The second panel is split diagonally, bottom left to top right.
In the top left half, we see Calvin and Bumpy closer up.
Bumpy, in a speech bubble, says “Gracious, you are peculiar. Now, let us commence the infiltration.”
Calvin says “Oh boy! We’re going to be the stars of the Podcast!”
In the other half, we see Oscapus close-up, screaming in horror. Big letters behind them read AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
In the third panel, we see the tank from the front again. Oscapus is now pulling themself over the top of the tank to leave it. They look reluctant and nervous.
Part 3
Image ID: Pets of Rusty Towers, Episode 2: Oscapus, part 3. This is a vertical, three panel comic.
In the first panel, Casper is in the foreground (he is identified by text outside of the panel as Alex and Hannah B’s cat).
He is speaking to camera. There is a speech bubble and he is saying: “Later this week our resident rabbit, Twitch, will be live-streaming a cooking competition!”
Casper is oblivious to Oscapus moving rapidly behind him, from left to right. Oscapus doesn’t speak, but we see thought bubbles saying: “Excuse me!” “Cats to catch, Podcasts to protect, sounds to save.” “Coming through!” “Thank you!”
The second panel is split diagonally. The larger portion is the top left and a smaller portion is the bottom right. Towards the bottom of the larger portion, Oscapus has curled their tentacle around Calvin’s tail and is pulling. In big letters, the word ‘YANK!’ is written.
Calvin is looking at Oscapus in alarm and says “What the - “
Bumpy continues to spy through the keyhole.
In the smaller portion, we see what happens next. Bumpy and Calvin fall flat on their backs on top of each other with a big ‘WHAM!’ in big letters, as Oscapus finishes pulling them.
In the third panel, Bumpy and Calvin run away from the door to the right, with the words ‘FLEE! FLEE! FLEE!’ in big letters above them. We see Oscapus’s tentacles disappearing as they slide quietly into the grate to the right of the door, making the wall around it wet.
