Part 1
Image ID: Pets of Rusty Towers, Episode 3: Preparations, part 1. This is a vertical, three panel comic.
In the first panel, Casper is standing in front of Oscapus’s tank from Episode 2. It is empty. He is identified as Alex and Hannah B’s cat in writing outside of the square.
Casper says “We seem to be missing our colleague Oscapus, so it’s all paws to the deck to find them!”
In the second panel, we are now at the top of a very tall, steep, stone spiral staircase. Our perspective is looking down through the centre as it spirals from top right, anticlockwise five times, before disappearing beyond our view. The walls are beige and there are five black doorways at various points along the ascent, as well as some rows of small rectangular lights mounted on the walls.
About halfway down this image, we see a small, distant Casper walking up the staircase. Small black text next to him reads “pat pat”. Casper is saying “With a cool head, this challenge is scalable.”
In the third panel, we are now standing behind Casper, who is on the left of a doorway positioned in the centre. Close-up, the beige walls have some dark-orange bricks visible in their texture. Casper is on all four paws, looking in through the door and saying “hmm…”
Inside the room that Casper looks at, we can see: a large open fire in a fireplace at the back on the left; a brown cat ‘nest’ on sturdy brown (likely wicker) legs; with a toy hanging from it; sitting towards the right on the pale blue floor; a blue and white clock saying 3 o’clock on the chocolate-coloured wall and, towards the left above the fire; a spider dangling from a web by a thread.
Outside of the room, opposite Casper on the right of the door, are two close-up stone steps, the first with a slight crack in it.
Part 2
Image ID: Pets of Rusty Towers, Episode 3: Preparations, part 2. This is a vertical, three panel comic.
In the first panel, we see that Casper has continued his ascent once more. He is in the medium distance, seen from above just past a doorway, with a second spiral of staircase below him. Text next to him reads “pat, pat, pat”.
In the second panel, Casper is now looking into a second room, again to the left of it, and again with two close-up steps to the right.
Inside the room, we see that there are some stacks of boxes of various sizes and shades of brown. There is one pile of two boxes on the floor to the left; above that, we see two boxes on a wall-mounted shelf; to the right we see a pile of four boxes.
Casper is saying “Time to think outside the box.”
In the third panel, Casper has finally reached the top. We are looking at him from behind as he peers out through an external doorway. He stands on his hind legs, in the centre of the picture, holding the left side of the doorframe and tilting his head slightly right to peek through the door, which is in the right half of the picture. On the left, we see three descending steps and the wall. The doorframe is made of ornately carved grey stone and has a pet owl feature right at the top centre.
Outside of the door, we see the silhouette of battlements in the medium distance underneath a blue and pink sky with two clouds tinged pink.
Part 3
Image ID: Pets of Rusty Towers, Episode 3: Preparations, part 3. This is a vertical, three panel comic.
In the first panel, we see a turret of Rusty Towers at sunset from just outside of it at eye level. There is a brown external battlement, behind which we see, on the right, the silhouettes of several pets against the pink-and-blue sky with the two pink tinged clouds in it. On the left is the brown top of the tower. It has a darker brown roof just disappearing off to the top left, some brick patterns, and a black door hole. Casper has emerged from this door. He is smiling, and saying “Aha! We’ve found the team, they’re preparing for battle!”
In the second panel, we zoom in on Casper in the centre of the picture, framed by the doorway. He now looks aghast and says “Wait, BATTLE???”
In the third panel, we now stand behind the pets looking over the battlements outwards.
From left to right, we see, again silhouetted: Oscapus, a dog on the floor, a cat on the battlement, a small teddy bear in a slot on the battlement, a hedgehog on the battlement, a dog standing up on hind legs to look through a slot in the battlement, a rabbit on the battlement, Tikka, sitting, and Calvin and Bumpy, also sitting.
There are hills, dark grey in the evening light on the left and right of the picture, and between them the sun is setting; we see the top third of it’s yellow-orange ball. The sky is blue at the top and merges into pink around where the top of the hills sit.
Below the sun, in the dead centre of the picture, we see an approaching dust cloud.
There is large black lettering in capitals, reading “RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE”.
In small white lettering at the bottom of the picture, it says “To be continued…”
