Picard and Puzzles

Hi folks,

Wishing you the very best for the coming week from everyone at Rusty Towers! We know that many of you will have started to celebrate the holiday season, and we’d like to take this moment to wish you and your loved ones a happy, safe and joyful new year.

As the year draws to a close, we have a few small announcements to share with you. First, I hope you all saw the recent announcement about Chapter and Multiverse our new TTRPG show, coming in Spring 2022. We’re so glad to see you’re as excited as we are about this new venture, and can’t wait to share more details about it with you soon.

Next, I’m really pleased to share a new Patreon bonus with you: the weekend puzzle! We saw how much you all enjoyed our big RQGG Rusty Riddle and we’ve loved watching you solve our hidden trivia puzzles for The Magnus Archives and Stellar Firma. Each weekend puzzle will be written by a team of RQ puzzle lovers, including Annie Fitch, Hannah Preisinger, Katie Seaton, Lowri Ann Davies, Nico Vettese, Suzanne King and Tessa Vroom. In 2022, we’re going to be growing our Patreon content and this is one of the first little extras. We’ve already shared some word searches and crosswords, but there will also be anagrams, special sudokus, logic puzzles, spot-the-difference, dot-to-dots and spatial reasoning! Starting on 1st January, these will go out every Saturday to all Patreon tiers – a lovely RQ way to start your morning, so grab a cup of tea (or your comforting beverage of choice) and start solving!

Next up – Season 1 of Enthusigasm is drawing to a close. The final episode, where we’ll be discussing Holiday Traditions, will be shared with Patrons next week, on 30th December. However, we’ll continue to post to the feed, sharing some compilations, bloopers and bonus content until the launch of Season 2 on 10th February on Patreon and 11th February to the public feeds. You can look forward to hearing more from Helen, the RQ crew, and other creators as they talk about a few more of their favourite things. We’ve adored making this show for you and can’t wait to share Season 2 with you. In the meantime, this week on Enthusigasm, we’re trekking across the universe to talk about Star Trek! Joining Helen is Cathy Rinella, Karim Kronfli and Marguerite Kenner as they boldly go into enthusiastic conversations about Jean Luc Picard, Captain Kirk and why everyone always forgets about Enterprise.

In the meantime, on RQG we’re returning to the world of attractive, good-hearted but academically uninclined Himbos as Ben, Lydia and Maddy hunt for treasure with the help of GM Sasha Sienna. This week, Byron, Hank and Topher start to explore the high street, in hopes of finding the Old Rusty’s fabled treasure from the 1970s.

Transcript update: 20/12/2021:

Enthusigasm is rounding out its first public season with a transcript for every episode. This is the standard we intent to maintain for all future RQ original releases.

We are nearing 200 complete transcripts for Rusty Quill Gaming and anticipate the complete set to be ready for release in January.

Meanwhile, the reformatting of transcripts into our house style is well underway. We hope to complete this for a January release.

As you can see, we hope to release all transcripts by the end of January, though we will confirm this in the new year.

Due to the holiday season, this will be the last transcript update of 2021. You can expect another update on 3rd January 2022.
