Dip your quills into our new collection
Added 2022-07-11 15:37:56 +0000 UTCHi folks,
Wishing you the very best for the coming week from everyone at Rusty Towers!
This week, we’re starting with a very exciting announcement! Hopefully, by now you’re aware of two new Rusty Quill original shows launching later on this year: Roman comedy, Cry Havoc! Ask Questions Later, and piratical adventure, Trice Forgotten. However, showrunner Elizabeth Moffatt and producer Lauren Grace Thompson have been working together to bring you a THIRD, brand new Rusty Quill Original show.
Introducing Neon Inkwell: our new home for short-form audio drama podcasts from a variety of creators. Each individual, unconnected series on the Neon Inkwell feed is shorter than any previous RQ Originals, and will introduce listeners to new and underrepresented creators, as well as a few familiar friends of Rusty Quill. Each self-contained series will range from one to eight episodes from creators around the world, allowing Rusty Quill to share a wide range of stories and perspectives. Whether it’s a post-apocalyptic space thriller or a quirky monster road trip Neon Inkwell listeners will always have something new to discover, with shows from a gamut of genres including mystery, horror and magical realism.

We’re delighted to share with you the first four short series that we are featuring on the Neon Inkwell feed. There are even more in the pipeline that will be announced in the near future.
Firstly, ‘Of That Colossal Wreck’, science fiction with a horror twist, by some familiar names for fans of The Magnus Archives: Sasha Sienna and Jonathan Sims. When five artificially-grown people awaken on an abandoned space station long after the extinction of humanity, they must confront their purpose, their future, and the carnivorous alien beings that have taken over the facility.
‘Broken Hearted Monsters’, created by Shane Ormond and Morgan Ormond is a romantic comedy for the outsiders of the world. When Dr. Frankenstein suddenly dies, his creature must make a cross-country road trip with his ex-boyfriend, Dracula, to attend the funeral.
‘The Pit Below Paradise’, created by J. Evelyn Gaskell, is a coming-of-age story. In the months before his prophesied demise, a cult sacrifice accidentally builds a close relationship with a former gravedigger, with neither aware of the others' strong ties to death.
‘Welcome to Foster’s’, created by Imogen Cassidy (who you may recognise as the writer of a The Magnus Archives fluff episode). In an alternate Sydney, Australia, a small-time private consulting wizard and her new apprentice attempt to keep the business afloat by removing magical pests, dispersing restless spirits, and tracking down a group of necromancers out to take over the world.
Neon Inkwell releases in October 2022.

This week is the final two episodes of our pilot series of New Player Challenges. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported the show! The episodes will, of course, remain up on YouTube: if you’d like to watch the whole series, you can do so here. Now the pilot series is over, production will wrap while we consult with the production team and decide whether to continue the project or if there will be any format changes. We will let you know as soon as a decision is made, and should we decide not to continue with NPC, we will be launching new video series so do ensure you’re subscribed to the Rusty Quill Video channel and keep an eye on Patreon for announcements.
Meanwhile, in Chapter and Multiverse, Adeeb is determined to confront Poltergeist, but his friends are worried that he may take things too far… On Enthusigasm, we’re sharing some outtakes and funny moments from season 2. Finally, on Friday our Patreon bonus is episode ten of Compulsory Film Appreciation. Hartro and IMOGEN are watching Nightmare on Elm Street, but what will they make of Freddy Krueger?

2022-07-11 15:56:53 +0000 UTCOmg, all the Neon Inkwell pitches sound awesome in their own ways! And yes, bonus eeeee for the familiar names :D Have loved this season of NPC, although i tend to binge all episodes of a game at once every once in a while instead of watching weekly. Loved the inter-players shenanigans, the cast, the editing, and the short format! Adeeeeeeeb...!!!
