Yo ho! Ahoy!

We have an exciting few weeks ahead of us, so let’s get straight into the newsletter!

Firstly, our nautical adventure podcast, Trice Forgotten, is setting sail, ready to drop anchor on podcast players everywhere next week! Early access for Knights+ Patreons starts on Monday 1st August, so you’ve just got a week until you meet Captain Alestes and her crew. Alestes (played by Rebecca Brough) wants to keep her head down, protecting her crew and her ship. However, it is rarely smooth sailing, as a stowaway (Siva, played by Shahan Hamza) quickly makes waves on board (and on land). Will Alestes be able to adjust her course, or is she sailing too close to the wind? We revealed more of the cast and character names in a Patreon post a few months ago, which you can read at this link.

However, if you can’t wait until next week, we’ll be sharing the Trice Forgotten trailer this Wednesday!

Creator and lead writer, Nemo Martin (who you may remember from their excellent appearances on Enthusigasm episodes on Pirates and Period Dramas) said of the project:

“The nautical epic genre has always glorified colonial natural history endeavours where race, gender, science and power continue to be deeply entwined. It was important to me to write Trice Forgotten as an ode to nineteenth-century gender non-conforming scientists of colour so that we celebrate the exploits and achievements of those continually made forgotten. I hope that curiosity and passion for research are ignited by this anti-colonial epic; and that people are as excited as me for the weird fish facts, pirate heists and high-octane sea-monster quests!”

Trice Forgotten launches publicly on 2nd August, and will be found wherever you find podcasts! As always, follows, reviews and ratings are incredibly helpful in the first few weeks of a new podcast, so we really appreciate all of our Patrons who take the time to do this on podcast players, even if you catch the episode in early access!

Meanwhile, we have a very exciting update on our Rusty Quill Gaming dice sets. You may remember we launched pre-orders a few weeks ago. Since then, our collaborators, Dice Dungeon, have been working with the manufacturers to create physical samples of what the final dice will look like. We went through several stages to ensure the colours and style matched our expectations, but we think we’ve managed to find the perfect balance.

We’re delighted to share a small preview of the ‘We’re Still Working on the Name’ dice set, now that we have photographs of real, rollable dice, and we hope to be able to share photos of the ‘LOLOMG’ dice soon.
