Neon November

Hi folks,

Wishing you the very best for the coming week from everyone at Rusty Towers!

Firstly, we were so pleased to be able to share the pilot preview of The Magnus Protocol with you all last week. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports us here on Patreon and sharing this preview was our way of saying thank you. While January may seem far away, for us it feels very soon as our incredible teams works on the rest first season, plus adding the finishing touches to the pilot episode. For those of you who may not be aware, the final version of the pilot episode you’ll hear in January will be a little different from the version we released in October. As well as being full mastered, it will also have a new version of the theme music, which is due to be recorded with an actual orchestra, conducted by our very own Sam “Sam Sam the Music Man” Jones, in Vienna next month. It will also feature an updated cast as we introduce the amazing Billie Hindle as Alice Dyer.

As we mentioned last week, we’ll be hosting a very special Twitch livestream on Wednesday 8th November at 18:30 GMT. (Please double check what time this is in your timezone – the clocks recently went back here in the UK). Join co-creators, Jonny and Alex, to chat about the pilot and celebrate with you all! Head over to twitch.tv/rustyquill and make sure you're following us to get a notification as soon as we go live!

Of course, if you can’t wait for January, we have Neon Inkwell launching in just a couple of weeks, where the first series featured will be a fantastic scifi horror written by Jonathan Sims and Sasha Sienna. Neon Inkwell is an anthology podcast launching on 24th November, featuring short series audio dramas, including Of That Colossal Wreck by Jonny and Sasha, The Pit Below Paradise, a coming-of-age story about prophesies and cults by J. Evelyn Gaskell, and Welcome to Fosters, a magical story set in an alternate version of Sydney, Australia, by Imogen Cassidy. There are several other series in various stages of production as well – we’ll of course keep you updated as we continue to work on these in the next few months.

As there is no bonus content this Friday, it’s a great time to highlight some of the amazing existing content here on Patreon that you may not have listened to yet. We know that we have quite a few new members at the moment: if you’re not sure where to start, here’s a few suggestions!

Finally, a quick note to say that voting for the Audioverse Awards closes this Saturday 11th November. If you haven’t yet cast your vote, please do consider casting a vote for Cry Havoc! Ask Questions Later or Trice Forgotten. Head over to the Audioverse Awards website to cast your vote now!

Have a good week all!

Okay, thinking about the tagline discussed at the chat. I’m trying to think of something that abbreviates to something machine readable or a computer protocol: ASCII, JSON, HTTP, EDOC, etc. to give it that kind of metatexual layer.
