My daughter sent me a link to The Magnus Archives last year, w/note attached: "A Spook.E for my horror obsessed Mom.E"... and I binged it. Thank you guys for this amazing world you've created. From the story, to sound effects, great characters, and beautiful soundtrack...I have goosebumps. You can tell love and care have been poured into this project, and it's gorgeous! So in my mind, either the party was a full day before Sam’s first shift (possible if Alice brought him along) or it was at the beginning of the “night” and the performance review was in the morning/closer to the end of shift. (Not discounting your point, I’m just trying to walk myself through it)

Interesting.

Looking forward to this hitting public release, I have thoughts about the shift from TMA's Victorian classification system to what appears to be more of a 1980's high dimensional dataset discovery approach - particularly given how we've got AI training fears so resonant in our universe re: what can be done with sufficiently large datasets. On my original listen, I was very hyped for the three digital voices; this round paying more attention to Freddie (eldritch Clippie?) and how Webby and Watchful this whole net surveillance process seems to be. Maybe the old Entity categorizations don't fully apply in this new universe; still intrigued by how much the ruin of TMI sounds like the ruin of Leitner's library..

It was after the “I’ll miss you, Teddy” line. There was a tape squeal noise, like a rewind or erase. It’s not there anymore. Sam is surprised that a pub is open at the start, but was brought to the pub after the opening party. Shouldn’t he know? It still feels like an erasure of something, even if the SFX I had tied it to is gone.

God DAMN the music is so much (the ending credits are so theatre-worthy!!!!), and I was worried how I'd feel about the recasting of Alice, but I really enjoyed Billie's performance as well, and appreciate even more the nuances she brought to the character! I feel like this Alice comes across as more open and likeable a person than the cool but more closed-off, 100%-sarcasm class-clown Alice of the pilot. So pleased!

I’ve listened to the pilot numerous times since it dropped and absolutely loved the changes made. I feel like Alice’s voice suits her better, there’s more emotion in the line deliveries (which I adore). The music and soundscape created so much dimension on this episode ! It made things less overwhelming for me with of all the different characters introduced. As a bilingual person (Canadian English) the lines sounded really clear. Even Collin’s, which I was apprehensive, was easy to understand. (No offense I just have difficulties understanding thicker accent)
