Protocol popularity, sweet scents and tall towers

Hi folks,

Wow.

I’m not sure if any of us here at RQ were quite prepared for just how excited you all were for the first two episodes of The Magnus Protocol. We are utterly blown away by the incredible feedback, comments, reviews, fan art, animatics (already!), theorising and keyboard smashes. At time of writing, The Magnus Protocol is still trending on Tumblr, it is in the podcast charts – not just in fiction and arts categories, but in the charts that include all podcasts – the reaction has been extraordinary.

Thank you to everyone here. Thank you to all of our Kickstarter backers.

In amongst all this excitement, we’re still busy working hard on our shows. This week on our Neon Inkwell anthology series, we are very excited to share the first episode of our 2021 dark comedy, Inexplicables, which is being made public for the first time. In the first episode, we meet 30-something disasters, siblings Harold and Meredith. When their mother dies unexpectedly, they have to travel back to their hometown in the North of England for the funeral, and to work out what to do with her care business, the ICS. But the ICS is more than it seems… Please be aware that Inexplicables deals with some difficult topics. There are content warnings available in the show notes, plus links to resources if you are affected by any of the topics within it. Of course, the whole series is available for all paying Patreon subscribers – you can find every episode under the Collections tab.

On The Magnus Protocol feed, we’ll be sharing episode 3, which is written by the first of our guest writers Graeme Patrick. As a reminder, having guest writers was part of our first few stretch goals when ran the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, and we are so excited to be able to share their incredible work. You may be familiar with Graeme’s work with Corbin Cupp on TTRPG actual play podcast, Ain’t Slayed Nobody. The show is on the RQ Network, and is a great mix of all sorts of campaigns, from eldritch horror wild west, playing the Bladerunner TTRPG, various settings using Call of Cthulhu. In episode 3 of The Magnus Protocol, Alice breaks a computer and there’s a growing sense of unease…

Next up, as promised, today we are sharing some really exciting new merchandise partnerships with some really special companies.

We hope that you all know by now that we put a lot of time and thought into the special, collectable merchandise we create – from Greer Stothers’ pin sets, the Dice Dunegon dice sets for Rusty Quill Gaming and The Magnus Archives, and the Jon and Martin perfume from  Sucreabeillewe’ve worked with some amazing creators to make some truly special products. We’re very excited to share with you our latest collaborations.

First up, we are very excited to share these bespoke wooden dice trays, dice towers and stunning coasters with you all, made by TTRPG accessories company, HarpsCorp.

(Image description: three photos. From left to right: wooden book-like box and tray featuring The Magnus Protocol logo; a hexagonal coaster featuring the Rusty Quill logo; three wooden book-like boxes, three towers and a hexagonal coaster, all featuring designs associated with Rusty Quill and The Magnus Archives).

These are made in small, limited batches, so when you visit the website, you’ll see a number of options with different delivery dates. All items will be available to pre-order until 31st March 2024. As a thank you for your generous support here on Patreon, we’ve arranged with Harps Corp and exclusive set of discount codes, which will be available for the first week of pre-orders until 29th January 2024:

On top of all that, HarpsCorp will be automatically adding a free engraved slate coaster to any order placed during the pre-order period.

To view all of the boxes, and to get your pre-order in, head to https://harpscorp.com/rusty-quill/.

We are also really excited to be launching a new, Ex Altiora themed perfume with Sucreabeille, the pre-order, exclusive to Patreon, for which will be going live later today. This time, the perfume will come with an exclusive, bespoke presentation box, inspired by The Magnus Archives. The engraved bottle is coloured blue to match with the ozone-inspiration. The link for the pre-order and the discount code will be available soon – we’ll share a separate update with all the information once it is available!

The first two episodes blew away my expectations! I didn't listen to Archives as it came out... So I'm so excited to listen to Protocol week-to-week! Quick question! Now that protocol is airing, where does that put Rusty Fears 6 production?
