Breakthrough

Hi folks,

Wishing you the very best for the coming week from everyone at Rusty Towers!

This week, we have a very exciting announcement. Anyone who joined us for our launch streams for The Magnus Protocol may remember Alex being particularly perturbed about not being able to come up with a good tagline for the show. Early drafts included: “You don’t have to be afraid to work here”, but nothing seemed to be quite right…

This weekend, Alex had a breakthrough. So, introducing the new tagline:

The Magnus Protocol

Fear takes many forms.

We’ll be sharing this publicly and updating our website tomorrow – we are extremely pleased with it!

Meanwhile, just a quick reminder that we have some incredible merch available to pre-order at the moment. As well as The Magnus Archives dice from Dice Dungeon, there is a new perfume scent – inspired by Ex Altiora and ozone – from Sucreabeille and some beautiful wooden dice towers, trays and coasters from HarpsCorp. For both HarpsCorp and Sucreabeille, these pre-orders end on 31st March, so make sure to order soon to avoid missing out!

This week on The Magnus Protocol, you may hear a familiar voice.

On Neon Inkwell, we have the finale of Inexplicables. Everything has come to a head and Harold and Meredith must find their way forward, before it is too late. Thank you so much to all of you who have been listening along to this second short series on the Neon Inkwell feed. If you’ve been enjoying Alexander J Newall’s writing on The Magnus Protocol, you may want to check out this dark comedy written with Tom Critch. Next week, we’ll be sharing a behind-the-scenes deep dive into the music of the show, then we’ll be on a planned break in content until we launch The Pit Below Paradise on 19th April 2024 (or 17th April for our Knights and Nobles Patreons). Written by J. Evelyn Gaskell, The Pit Below Paradise follows Dorian/Dori (he/her), the central religious figure in the basil-loving community of Paradise Village. Dori is certain of his future – until the date of his sacrifice is rescheduled and Dori is forced to enter the wider world and attend a local college. Will, a former gravedigger and Dori’s new roommate, has no reason to suspect that she is more than she seems… The Pit Below Paradise is a refreshing blend of drama, humour, and yes, romance that you won't find anywhere else!

OH I JUST GOT THE PUN IM SOBBING (“forms” both bc of the diff entities and “forms” like bueracratic files)

Misterkryptonite l

"Fear takes many 'forms'" 📃 genius.

Bryttanie Eastman

Definitely!!!

Mother of Ferrets

… may?

jem

Asdfghjkl the pun, the tease of tomrrows episode, & the summary of the next neon inkwell story. So much to love this week! ❤️

Cas D

Familiar voice like not just reading out from the computer???

Mice and Moonbeams

i will scream if the familiar voice is elias

Kennedi

Aww, I was so sure it'd be "we have figured out RSS, a technology from the previous century which everyone else seems to know how to use"

geeoharee

Re tagline I am suppressing the urge to yell at Alex to go to his room (the usual response to that kind of well crafted pun in my circles) bc he doesn’t know me from a hole in the wall.

Feather

As someone who works for the state of California, I approve if this tag line sooooo much.

LainyJP

Tagline is amazing, but now I’m wondering who could the familiar voice be?

HeavenlyBibi

Har har har, forms, geddit. One of the departments at my work has a corny poster up that says "You don't have to be crazy to work here, we'll train you!" and I do feel Alice would hang up a similarly corny poster in the OIAR office with the rejected tagline.

Helena McCoy

That tagline is perfection. In triplicate.

Asymmetrical Exile

I'd definitely buy that

Stor Reke

Ha! I see what you did there. Excellent tagline. (I still want a mug with the rejected one, though.)
