Firstly, a huge thank you to the Rusty Nobles who joined us at the Trice Forgotten wrap party. We had a wonderful time hanging out and chatting with you all and celebrating our piratical show.

Meanwhile, we're delighted to announce that The Magnus Archives fanfiction showcase is now open for entries. As a reminder, we’re looking for short stories or extracts up to 500 words that can be read live on stream with creators of The Magnus Archives Jonathan Sims and Alexander J Newall. You can read the terms and conditions, and find the entry form on our website. Please note, only submit your own work, and read the terms and conditions carefully. While we don’t have a strict closing date, we do recommend getting your entries in sooner rather than later, as we’re anticipating this will be an extremely popular competition!
We’ve had a few messages lately from Patreon users who are struggling to find the download links to Patreon-exclusive and ad-free episodes. It looks like Patreon has recently updated its UI, changing the way you can download episodes. You should be able to download an episode by clicking on the “…” button underneath the episode. If you have any issues, please send us an email at mail@rustyquill.com, so we can investigate further.
Finally, on Friday for Rusty Knights we have another episode of Enthusigasm. This time host Helen Gould is joined by April, Beth and Tessa as they discuss art and drawing!

My specific edge case is TMA filk of a Mechanisms' song, which I dearly hope would tickle Jonny's sense of humor. And for anyone who's also considering TMA filk submissions - sounds like yes, likely these will be permitted, but do include information in the submission specifying that only TMA characters and scenarios are involved with no explicit mention of other properties.

I missed it by coming home the exact minute it finished, but it sounds like it was lovely :) (Still crossing fingers and fishy toes for a season 2!) Super excited for the fanfic showcase, that was one of the goals I was most hyped for!! Can't decide yet whether to apply to nominate something of mine (the giddiness vs selfconsciousness of potentially being Seen.........), but it's such a lovely idea either way!

2023-02-20 17:43:04 +0000 UTCRe: the fanfic showcase - I suspect I won't be the only one curious about potential eligibility edge cases like filk and fusions where all the characters and scenarios involved are wholly of the Magnus Archives, but the underlying structure is riffing off another work in some way - e.g. in the case of filk, new TMA-specific lyrics set to an existing melody.
