2023-04-27 12:16:37 +0000 UTCThat TF pinboard is an absolute mood and a half - amused to get partway through and hit instant facecasting for Siva. Moar gorgeously evocative sea paintings and tiny ship models and fish stamps and everyday historical costuming and recreations of pirates' quarters ftw! The pitch document is fascinating. I can see its DNA in the current cast and themes, though some of those original characters appear to have been merged or reworked. Yesssssssssssssss re: "hopepunk: the tonal decision that we (and our characters) can make disruptive, positive choices in light of daunting and unthinkable challenges." I'm hearing the TF theme music in the back of my head just reading that. I think the actual TF ended up a lot more interesting than the original pitch, but gosh does that action-adventure cooking show description make me suddenly salviate for Baker's Book of everything you can do with a potato, etc. Love that food and cooking for each other and desire to explore vs. occasional hubris of not consulting locals fully remained a lens, a throughline for revealing character and the systems in which our characters are operating.
