Pirates and plays

Hi folks,

Wishing you the very best for the coming week from everyone at Rusty Towers!

As always, we have been extremely busy this week working on both Cry Havoc and our upcoming shows. You may remember Neon Inkwell, our upcoming anthology podcast feed which will feature short podcast series from creators around the world. We have already wrapped recording and begun editing on Of That Colossal Wreck, a scifi horror from Jonny Sims and Sasha Sienna, and are currently working on casting Welcome to Fosters, a magical tale by Imogen Cassidy set in an alternate version of Australia. It’s been a really rewarding project for us so far, allowing for our team to experiment and try out new roles without our editing schedules. We will of course continue to keep you up to date with all the news as we  develop both Neon Inkwell and The Magnus Protocol.

Speaking of The Magnus Protocol, we’d like to give you an update on the digital premiere, which Kickstarter backers at Archive Assistants and above and Patreon supporters at Knights and Nobles tiers are eligible to receive. As an addition to this, we are considering hosting an in-person event in Manchester for a limited number of guests to celebrate The Magnus Protocol with us. Tickets for this will be available to purchase for Kickstarter backers and Patreon subscribers at Knights and Nobles tiers in the first instance, and we’ll be sharing more news on this in the coming weeks.

This week on Cry Havoc everyone is dealing with last week’s kidnapping in different ways. As Mark, Gaius and Lepidus scramble to figure out what to do – with a little encouragement from Fulvia – while Octavia is using the opportunity to gather some inspiration for her play. Meanwhile we’ll be learning a little more about the pirate captain Sextus Pompey.

As a quick reminder, after this week’s episode we have a short break in the release schedule for two weeks. Episodes will return in the usual schedule on 15th August for Patreon and 17th August for standard public release.

Our Friday bonus content will continue as normal. This week our Backstage episode covers everything to do with music in Cry Havoc. Joining Lowri is director Armani and Sam Jones, who wrote the music featured in every episode in the show! They’ll be discussing the new way Sam has been working on music specifically for Cry Havoc, the inspiration for the music style, and Sam’s music “search engine”.

Here is our full schedule for this week:

Tuesday 25th July

ROME 10 – The Pirate King (Patreon) (4pm BST)

Thursday 27th July

ROME 10 – The Pirate King (Public) (4pm BST)

Friday 28th July

KNIGHTS+ bonus – Music of Rome (Patreon) (4pm GMT)

Have a good week all!

The Rusty Quill team
