Recent changes on Patreon for Apple iOS app users
If you are planning on using the discount above, plan to subscribe to any Patreon creator in the future and use the Apple iOS app please be aware that there has recently been some changes that may impact you.
Apple has introduced a 30% fee on any transaction, including subscriptions, made via the Patreon iOS app. This means that, as of earlier this month, any new members signing-up to our Patreon via the iOS app will be paying more each month than our current members or folks who sign-up via any non-iOS method. With this in mind, we strongly recommend that anyone thinking of joining any Patreon – not just our own – does so via a web browser or desktop computer, rather than through the iOS app on Apple devices. Not only would using the iOS app lead to a user paying more each month, but the creator will not see any of that 30% fee; it goes directly to Apple. Once a subscription is set up using, for example, a browser, there are no issues with you using the iOS app – these changes will only affect billing.
