Finale festivities!

This week, as you may imagine now that we are 27 episodes into the first The Magnus Protocol season, we are looking ahead to the finale. Episode 30 will be a double-length episode, thanks to the incredible support we received during the Kickstarter campaign, and it will be shared in early access on 10th September 2024 and publicly on 12th September.

It has been incredible creating this show and sharing it with you all this year. To celebrate reaching this pivotal moment, as well as to thank you all for your support, we will be hosting a few community events!

Firstly, on 10th September, exclusively on Patreon for our Knights and Nobles supporters, we’ll be hosting another Patreon Drop – a live listen and chat about episode 30, similar to a YouTube premiere. This will happen at 6pm BST, two hours after the early access episode is released, and will be joined by some of our amazing The Magnus Protocol cast members.

Since the last Drop we hosted, Patreon has made a few changes to feature. You can now join a Drop from both the mobile app and from desktop or browser. We know that due to an unconnected server outage during our previous live listen, some of you experienced problems with sending messages in the chat feature. We have been assured by Patreon that this won’t happen again. You can find out more about Drops in this blog post from Patreon.

As this is a live chat, we will be asking you to refrain from sharing spoilers if you have listened to the episode in advance, and to please treat our cast members and your fellow Patrons with respect.

If you can’t make the Drop event, you’ll still be able to listen to the episode and view the Drop if you are in the Knights or Nobles tier.

We’ll also be hosting a celebratory livestream on 19th September on our twitch channel. Join members of the cast to chat about the whole of first season of The Magnus Protocol, and to play some Jackbox Games! As always with our twitch streams, you can go to www.twitch.tv/rusty_quill and make sure you’re following us to get notifications as soon as we go live!

Finally, we’ll also be hosting a Drop here on Patreon with the release of the Epilogue episode. Epilogues were also unlocked during the Kickstarter campaign, providing a coda to the season ahead of season 2. As with all of our Drops, this live listen will take place 2 hours after the initial early access release and will be available for our Knights and Nobles supporters. The epilogue will be released on 24th September in early access and 26th September on the public feed.

As well as the epilogue, there will be some between-season episodes released for you to enjoy, including the long-awaited return of Magnus Fluff episodes, a “What If?” style episode, a Q&A episode, and the release of our winning stories from Rusty Fears 6. We’ll share a bit more about all these closer to the time.

Meanwhile, looking ahead to this week’s episode of The Magnus Protocol, there’s a visitor at the OIAR offices.

Finally, we are very pleased to be sharing a feed drop from The Silt Verses on the Magnus podcast feed this week. The Silt Verses is co-created by Muna Hussen, who also wrote The Magnus Protocol episode 26. You can now find the first episode of folk-horror The Silt Verses on the public Magnus feed. In the first episode, Carpenter and Faulkner, worshippers of an outlawed god, are travelling up the length of their deity’s great black river, navigating a world of ritual, hidden language, and sacrifice.
