The play’s the thing

Hi folks, 

The Hallowe’en week is always special here at Rusty Towers, but this last weekend has been particularly special. We attended two huge events, shared the digital premiere for The Magnus Protocol season 2 and made one of our biggest announcements to date. 

During our MCM Panel, we were finally able to reveal Magnus Live: The Hilltop, a theatrical production premiering next year. We’ve been working on this since the Kickstarter finished at the end of 2022, and it’s really exciting to be able to tell you some more about it! The Hilltop brings the world of Magnus to the stage, exploring the places beyond reality and what happens to those who fall through the cracks…  

Today we’re pleased to announce that Magnus Live: The Hilltop will be premiering at The Clapham Grand in London, on Thursday 30th October 2025. Tickets will go on general sale on 1st November, however, Patreons and Kickstarter backers will receive a pre-sale link, 24-hours early at 10am GMT on 31st October 2024.

Thank you to all our incredible fans who came out to see us at MCM Comic Con on Saturday, or at our in person viewing of Magnus Protocol S2 first episode in Manchester on Sunday! We are always blown away by your support, and this weekend was no exception. We had a wonderful time meeting you, taking your questions and showing you what we've been working on behind the scenes. Looking ahead, next week we will be sharing the first of our Rusty Fears 6 winning stories on The Magnus Archives / The Magnus Protocol podcast feed. Rusty Fears is our horror-writing competition where talented writers can have their stories fully recorded and produced by Rusty Quill. In the sixth iteration of the competition, we received a record-breaking 700 entries, which had to be whittled down to just six winners, one for each of our six themes: Game Show, Beach, Frozen, Birds, Window, and Telescope.  

Each of our winners will be shared across the next few weeks, with each short story being read by a different voice actor, including Ryan Hopevere-Anderson, Anusia Battersby, Sarah Lambie, Billie Hindle, Shahan Hamza and Victoria Cheng. Once all six short horror stories have been released, there will be a public poll for listeners to vote for their favourite. The overall winner will get the opportunity to write a case that will be featured in The Magnus Protocol.  

Finally, on 31st October it’s the final part of Watcher’s Are You Scared? Hallowe’en special featuring Alex and Jonny! The audio version will be available to listen to here on Patreon, or you can watch the video over on WatcherTV. Thank you to everyone who’s tuned into these specials!
