Before our attention is consumed by a particular tree in the forest, be reminded that the attack on Harvard starts with antisemitism on campus. As things unfold the attention is directed towards the Chinese. With the war on tariffs, it starts with an attack on the whole world, as things turn then again attention is directed towards the Chinese. Personally I don’t think Trump cares much about antisemitism, nor does he care one iota about what anyone cares about. While the insights in the discussions in this series are very valuable, I think they are very far removed from what Harvard or other universities are worried about, or what Americans are worried about regarding Trump’s attack. Everything is fast becoming one giant collateral damage, that makes no sense. Trump is trying to restore free speech at Harvard? Trump is trying to get rid of grift and corruption? It is no exaggeration he is a living embodiment of grift and corruption. If Harvard has a value issue, and one somehow concludes that Trump has the right values, is interested in, or is going to restore the right values to a prestigious academic institution, when his record consistently points to destroying reputation and values in everything he touches, we may look back in time and say this is borderline mass delusion at work when everything is said and done. A twenty first century revision of Gustave Le Bon’s work is in order, on what enabled one man to take things so far, apart from a get-out-of-jail-free card, to manipulate masses with heterogeneous demographics at such scale and unison that continues to empower him till the end.

Its research serves as a national asset, driving advancements in science and technology. It’s been a place where inspiring stories emerge, demonstrating how raw talent, passion, and perseverance can shine through hardship, ultimately contributing greatly to the US. Harvard’s influence stems largely from its powerful, well-connected alumni network in global business and political spheres, surpassing that of any other institution or exclusive club. This facilitates a Harvard degree as a golden ticket for rapidly advancing one’s career ladder and social standing. It paves the way to wealth, power, and influence, while securing legacy admissions for future generations. However, many aspects of this once-revered institution have grown rotten, elitist, and problematic over the years. Its sprawling DEI apparatus not only over-amplifies LGBTQ voices on campus but also ramps up pressure on the regulation of free speech, sometimes even inciting others to ruthlessly “cancel” those with opposing views without a tinge of inclusion. Meanwhile, Harvard courts adversaries who make substantial donations under the guise of academic exchange, as a quid pro quo for training their future agents and party cadres while overlooking activities related to scientific and technological espionage. For those with histories of bribery and corruption, if they like their fuerdai (富二代) and guan erdai (官二代) to have status laundering, they’ve to send their children to schools serving up with glitzy diplomas and creating an exclusive club of birds of a feather, then by all means, let them pirouette their way to the foe’s 390-year-old party school. Harvard remains a cornerstone of U.S. innovation, technological progress, and extensive network leadership, embodying the nation’s intellectual, political, and managerial elite. Despite its deep flaws, it’s worth saving. The challenge lies in how to scrape all toxic elements off the backbone while preserving its essential merits and contributions to the US and the world.

2025-06-08 03:19:59 +0000 UTC美國人一向對政府公權力有所警惕，憲法冇寫明可以做既野政府唔可以做，憲法保護既野政府唔可以搞。 侵對哈佛明顯係嚴重干涉學術自由、言論自由、思想自由。美國從來冇對立到咁。政府報服唔聽話既大學立左一個好危險既先例。以後如果有一個極左總統上台又可唔可以用同一方法整治？ 政府應該潛龍勿用。
