I didn't realize that the tanks they were stealing were then going to get put on a train. That's where I think all my confusion came from. It all makes sense now. I cannot decide if I hate Father Hughes more than I hated Campbell. Right now, they are duking it out for top villain. I'm watching 3X6 tomorrow (Monday the 13th), and I'm already getting anxious about what's to come! I cannot believe I'm already halfway through. I don't know what I'm gonna do with myself when this series is over.

Tommy is working on behalf of the British (not Irish government) for Winston Churchill. He has to steal armored cars to send to help the royalist Russians fight the war. He has hatched a plan that they all the armored tanks will be put on a train they will cause a riot with the communists to cause a distraction, the trains will get blown up (but not really) and Tommy's associate will declare the tanks as right offs, but secretly ok and shipped abroad. Meanwhile The Duke and Duchess and Tatianna are planning to pay Tommy in fake jewels for his payment of the plan then kill him. Tommy knows this and has Alfie helping him to steal the jewels so that he will get paid. Remember Father Hughes is double crossing Tommy and the government. If the train really gets blown up it will be seen as a violent act on British soil so will start a war against the Russians. Also Tommy and his family will be the scapegoats and all be hanged. So there is a lot going on and still more twists to unfold in the next 2 episodes. Hope that helps
