I was waiting for this episode! Like you, I see why both Philip and Elizabeth are upset. Philip joined an arranged marriage knowing that they'd be unfaithful as spies but sleeping with other people in disguise with a mission in mind isn't the same as having an emotional connection and sharing things about your life and family with that other person. And Philip was stressing the issue of her sharing things about them and their kids as being the betrayal because like they signed up for a loveless marriage but they are supposed to be partners who trust each other more than anyone else because that is who they have to be for each other for the sake of this "job". I also get Elizabeth's side though. It's not a real marriage, she was young, she needed support, and she was careful. I feel like neither are "wrong" here, it just is what it is. That ending always kills me. I was hoping so bad that they'd really take her away to Cuba or Russia and when I was watching Granny put her in the car every scenario was racing through my head. I was like well Cuba is probably a lie but they could be taking her to Russia and just saying Cuba so she agrees to go. But then when Granny said that her family could visit and that was when I knew. She wasn't going to get out.
