One Tree Hill 1X13: Hanging By a Moment

Dan did one good thing. It does not change the way I feel. It apparently does not keep Deb from divorcing him, either. Huzzah!

In less exciting news, poor Lucas is dead. But since this show is a zillion episodes, I can only assume he'll be fine.

Also, does this mean Karen is gonna hate Keith now? It will break my heart.

Geat reaction :) Love all the drama. From Haley's POV, it has never been clarified that Nathan started this thing with her to mess with Lucas so I understand her reaction. Lucas is obviously in the wrong now and he knows that but I don't think Haley was right to come and yell at him and blame him the way she did as if he was living his best life. That's not what a best friend would do and it would surely piss me off even more.

(1) Lucas should have his own class called "Deflecting 101" cause holy crap his ability to take the most unrelated thing and use it as an obstacle in front of his own mistakes is honestly admirable lol. I mean does he write every mistake someone makes and then memorize it as ammo or does he pull out a list everytime he's on the hot seat. The way he made Haley out to be the villain is crazy. Haley tutoring and then dating Nathan when they were both single has absolutely nothing to do with Lucas cheating on his girlfriend. (2) Nathan and Coach Whitey's relationship is really moving to me. The more I rewatch this show the more I realize that Whitey is like a surrogate father for Nathan. Lucas had Uncle Keith and Nathan had Coach Whitey. That scene where Nathan tells Whitey how he's made a difference gets me everytime. It's so funny the way he's saying Whitey likes to yell at him and Whitey is literally yelling about how he doesn't but then Nathan also got me crying when he asks Whitey not to give up on him yet.

Great reaction as always! I'm excited about the mini binge and the extra epis coming in January. Season 2 is so dramatic and angsty. Looking forward to speeding through that and onto fan fav seasons 3 and 4. As far as this epi, Haley did not know for sure when she started tutoring Nathan what he was up to. What she did know was that Nathan was already messing with Lucas and that he came to her for help. She agreed to help him if he left Lucas alone. Sure she thought he was full of shit initially, but she also thought he really needed help, which he did. Then she started seeing another side of Nathan when he was with her. At what point did Nathan go from using Haley to liking her? It was unclear to the audience and we even knew for sure of what he was doing? It's not like they have been dating forever. The whole tutoring/dating thing happened pretty quickly. It's only been like 2.5 months since it all started. Nathan needed to be called out on it and held accountable. Whether she knew (considering they said she didn't I'm going with that) or didn't, what Nathan did was crappy and until now, for wtv reason it was glossed over. It was the first time he actually said it and made it clear for her. Plus, she just had that fight with Lucas where he basically said the same thing she's probably thinking now. (Haley deserves to be mad about this at some point even if it's used as as plot device for the next epi for Lucas/Nathan. Just because he was a terrible person back then doesn't excuse his behavior.) Lucas needs to stop. I hate that when someone rightly questions his behavior, Keith a few episodes ago, Karen in epi 15, and Haley here, he turns it back on the other person. I agree with Haley, I don't like the person he is becoming. Peyton is not blameless in this at all, but at this point I'm more mad at Lucas. Peyton was at least a little conflicted because of Brooke while Lucas was all like F@#k your best friend. Also, when Lucas told Peyton he was hiding out (when he knew how she felt) with Brooke so he wouldn't get hurt again, but gave no regard to hurting Brooke in the process or Peyton either for that matter, was kind of terrible. It's easy to forgive them since they are kids and don't know how to handle the situation, but still I hate it when bffs fight over a boy. This triangle was off putting to me. Lucas started off on top, so it makes sense they have him lose his way, cuz where else are you going to go but down. Maybe he will get back up there or maybe not. Yeah no, Dan does not get a pass for doing one good thing. I loved the twist of Karen not coming home with a guy and it being something else that kept them apart. Anyway, great episode. Good stuff coming up.
