I'm not an anti-Lucas and personally I enjoy watching him struggle to find his way. Deep down he is still the same good guy but he makes mistakes or says stupid things like anyone else (and some characters of the core 5 made worse things than him imo) and he tries to fix them. It is not like he gets away with it. Regarding Haley, it is probably because he knows that he has changed and lost himself along the way so he protects her too much. And he was also particularly lonely at this stage. It is not weird to me. And it is still complicated because Nathan is rightfully not his favorite person. Nathan was right to defend Haley and to make Lucas see things differently. So well done Nathan but it is not that big of a deal and it doesn't make Lucas a monster lol. In the end, they are all good and it was a step in the right direction for their friendship.

2024-05-12 08:29:26 +0000 UTCi CHEERED when nathan said that. lucas was beyond an asshole when he said she used to be original and now isn't. she's still the same girl, maybe a bit more confident in herself but yeah her smarts, her drive, her sweetness, none of that has changed. nathan got brownie points for me when he stood up for her.

2023-12-26 21:03:42 +0000 UTCI'm not gonna pretend that Nathan is a complete angel in this episode. I definitely feel that the rivalry between Lucas and Nathan is getting to be played out. But if there was ever an episode where Lucas deserved hate from Nathan, it would be this one. Lucas is being such an asshole to Haley. I think that Haley is doing a remarkable job of juggling everything. Not only is she juggling her old friend Lucas and her boyfriend Nathan. She's also juggling studying/getting amazing grades along with tutoring fellow students, her job at the cafe and also her new friendship with Peyton. Haley's got a lot on her plate and she doesn't need Lucas' shit and him take out frustrations with his love life out on her. And also when she said "i'm not spending more time with Nathan than you spent with Brooke" is so true. Lucas is being a total hypocrite. When Nathan defended Haley, I cheered. It was a great boyfriend move. I just have to copy and paste what he said because it is so good and true... NATHAN: What have you been doing to Haley, man? You were kind of a dіck to her tonight. LUCAS: You know she used to be this totally original…Haley. Then you came along. NATHAN: And as far as I can tell she’s still the same person she’s always been. The only difference is now she’s with me. So maybe the problem’s not with her. Maybe the problem’s with you. YESSS NATHAN!! 🎉🎉 Also how hypocritical of Lucas to put down Haley and insinuate that she's changed when he himself has changed so much since joining the team. For one he became a two timing jerk and cheated on his girlfriend with her best friend. Haley is the same person she's always been. Maybe a little bit more confidant but still the same Haley
