One Tree Hill 1X22: The Games That Play Us

Um, the most important thing: FUCK DAN. Also, please fucking die, Dan.

And Haley and Nathan are married?!? Married?!?

How has it only been one season of this show? So much has happened!

That was such a lovely moment. I love the progression we've gotten between Lucas and Nathan as well, but that was such a good visual representation of Nathan and Haley. Yes. I was so afraid they were going be a Rory/Jess. I'm so glad that so far I seem to be proven wrong. And as much as I don't generally advocate for people to get married young, my husband and I started dating in 1999, and it worked out totally fine (we'll be married for 20 years this summer- but sometimes I think maybe we just got lucky. Lol.) But, I'm a believer in the fact that you totally can find love young.

Totally loving it. And I LOVE Lucas and Haley's relationship. It makes me sad when they are fighting. And I love Haley. And how HAPPY she seemed to be married to Nathan!

And I am SO appreciative of that! I got spooked by some YouTube comments, so I kind of stopped reading them, but I really don't think you guys are gonna spoil me :) At least up until now, I can 100% agree with you about Nathan. I cannot believe how much of a 180 I did on him. And so quickly! It's amazing, BELIEVEABLE character development. I was totally in the Rory/Jess camp. I think I even referred to Nathan as Jess at one point. I could not be happier that it isn't turning out that way, though. I like Jess just fine, but I'm kind of done with the 'I'm only nice to you when we're alone bullshit.' Plus, Haley is very different from Rory, and I'm glad they didn't try to shove her into that box just because she's smart and wholesome. Yes. I was kind of shocked that they got married. TV shows don't usually like to show their hands this quickly. I don't know where we're going from here, but I kind of think it might be the real deal. I cannot believe how incredible this first season was!

in the episode where nathan visits lucas in the hospital for haley, i mentioned that that moment solidified them to me as partners, more so than just "boyfriend/girlfriend" and i think there's been little nuggets here and there where you can see the true partnership behind their relationship or at the foundation of their relationship. the comment above mentions rory and jess and i absolutely agree. i think we've been seeing little hints that have set nathan and haley up as being a bit more than just typical high school relationship. she's been his rock for him when his own family situation has been such a mess. i remember when i first watched this episode, i was shocked of course but even then i was like "yeah, this makes sense" lol i know a couple from my high school who got together their sophomore year. his family was moving but their relationship was so solid and real they let him stay behind with family in town so he wouldn't have to move from her. 15 years later, they're still going strong. sometimes it just works. but we'll have to wait and see what's in store for nathan and haley :) their story def. is an interesting one!

Lucas was more defensive with Haley having sex before marriage, because he doesn’t want her to be pressured into doing something she really didn’t want to. His protective nature just came out. Now, I’m so happy you are loving this show!! 😁

I've been waiting for this episode so that I can show all my cards. Nathan Scott is the motherfuckin MVP. My absolute favorite character in any TV show ever!!!!!! Lol he is so perfect!!!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ’—πŸ’— James Lafferty is such an incredible actor. Some people are only able to play someone exactly like themselves. The actor who was least like his character was early S1 Nathan and James. James is the sweetest, kindest, down to earth, and calm dude. I've never heard a person say a bad thing about him. All the women on this show talk about what a gentleman he is, how kind he is, and what a great friend he was/is. He got along with all the guys. Chad and he were super close. Him and Paul. He literally was friends with everyone. He's just so chill ❀❀ Also that plot twist at the end was just iconic. So many people when they start the show kind of assume Nathan and Haley are just another Rory and Jess. Cute but just another teen drama couple that involves the girl next door and a bad boy. But this twist blows me away even a year after watching it. It really sets Nathan and Haley apart from any TV couple and certainly any teen drama couple. And who knows where it will go from here but shows back then were so paranoid to make any major changes to a couple cause writers don't like to feel boxed in but to get Nathan and Haley married in the first season is an honestly ballsy move for shows of that time period. James and Joy didn't know it was gonna happen ahead of time. The first time they found out was when they got the script... which was a red colored script to protect the plot twist from being leaked. Teen dramas don't usually have red scripts. Shows like Game of Thrones had them, Stranger Things had them. It's just such an iconic plot twist and I gotta respect it! It's a moment where you understand that anything can happen in this show. If you can imagine it, then it can happen. If you can't imagine it, it will probably happen lol ❀❀
