Snippet of a possible quest/ story?
Added 2025-03-20 03:17:05 +0000 UTCYou feel the weight of his presence even before you see him.
Kakashi Hatake stands there, shoulders slouched, hands tucked into his pockets. The single, lazy eye visible above his mask glances at you, half-lidded. Not dismissive—no, that would be an insult. Just unconcerned.
"Two bells. One hour. Come at me with intent."
He hadn't even activated his Sharingan. He hadn't drawn a weapon. He barely even stood like a fighter, weight shifted onto one foot like an afterthought.
Your fingers twitch. The two tomoe in your eyes hum with the electric song of perception. You roll your shoulders, letting the cold settle into your limbs—Winter, whispering promises of inevitability.
You exhale.
Then you vanish.
FIRST CLASH
(Combat Rolls)
Sasuke's Attack Roll: d100 → 61 (+15 from Edge, +10 from Knock = 86)
Kakashi’s DC (High-Tier Chunin, Non-Lethal Mode): 50 (Reacting only, not attacking full force.)
(Outcome: Hit! Heavy Damage Modifier Applied.)
Your body erupts forward, propelled by the Knock Principle, the force of doors breaking and thresholds shattered. You don’t just move—you rupture space, blurring across the clearing in a single breath.
Kakashi’s eye flickers up.
You see it in real-time. The second before impact, the micro-adjustments in his stance, the weight shift of a veteran shinobi—he’s already seen you. But he reacts at a chunin’s speed, deliberately not at full capacity.
A mistake.
Your leg whips upward, and the moment he twists to deflect, your Sharingan catches the pattern. Trajectory shift. Your foot pivots at the last second, adjusting mid-flight.
The strike connects.
A sharp crack—his ribs compress beneath the ball of your foot. Kakashi barely reacts, but there’s a sharp hitch in his breath. He slides back a meter, one hand rising to rub his side.
"Oh?" he muses, still infuriatingly relaxed. "Not bad."
Your heartbeat is ice, steady. You already know—it wasn't enough.
THE SHADOW THAT MOVES
(Combat Rolls)
Sasuke’s Evasion Roll: d100 → 54 (+10 from Winter Reflexes = 64)
Kakashi’s Feint DC: 45 (Non-serious, baiting attack.)
(Outcome: Sasuke evades but is forced into a counter position.)
Kakashi’s hand moves. A flicker—then he’s gone.
The Winter Principle kicks in, and the world slows. You see it—his body moving through space, the feint in his shoulder line, the almost imperceptible slack in his wrist before the jab.
A false attack.
He isn’t actually aiming to strike, just to force a reaction. If you move the wrong way, he’ll have your blind spot in an instant.
You don’t react normally.
Instead of dodging back, you let the cold guide you. No wasted movement—just a half-shift to the left, body lowering by an inch. His strike slides past your cheek, missing by a fraction.
Your counterattack is already in motion.
CUTTING INTO THE RAIN
(Combat Rolls)
Sasuke’s Counter Roll: d100 → 79 (+15 from Edge = 94, +10 Winter Precision = 104!)
Kakashi’s Evasion DC: 50 (Chunin-tier, passive evasion only.)
(Outcome: Devastating hit!)
Your hand cuts through the air, fingers poised like a blade of ice.
No hesitation. No wasted motion. The Winter Principle makes you weightless—inevitable. Your fingers lash forward, striking just beneath Kakashi’s shoulder joint.
The effect is immediate.
A sharp crack, like brittle glass shattering. Kakashi's arm locks for half a second, the nerves disrupted from the direct strike. His single eye narrows, not in pain, but acknowledgment.
"You—"
You don’t let him finish.
You drive your knee into his solar plexus.
Kakashi's feet leave the ground.
FALLING SKY
(Combat Rolls)
Sasuke’s Grapple Roll: d100 → 34 (Not a direct attack, just control.)
Kakashi’s Counter Roll: d100 → 80 (Effortlessly escapes.)
(Outcome: Sasuke loses control. Kakashi shifts the fight.)
It should have ended there.
You have control—his body suspended mid-air, Sharingan burning, every nerve in your body poised to finish it. You raise your hand to strike—
And then you lose him.
A whisper of motion.
A single hand on your wrist—pressure applied at the exact point needed. Your body tilts, balance ruined.
Then a sharp impact against your side.
Your breath hitches—Kakashi’s leg crashes into your ribs, and suddenly you’re airborne.
You twist mid-air, Sharingan flashing, but—
Kakashi is already behind you.

2025-03-20 05:14:17 +0000 UTCWinter kinda embody death, stagnation, entropy, things slowing down and the like. When Sasuke used winter to become faster, to dodge, he did so by slowing the world around him. It could kinda be said that he mutliplicated a negative (winter slowness) by another one (his slow perception) to be able to react

2025-03-20 05:11:55 +0000 UTCThis is actually pretty darn good for what you did when bored. However, Winter is the principle of stillness and what has passed, so theoretically it shouldn’t increased the movement of his reflexes as that is more a combination of Edge for battles and Heart for motion and survival, unless you referring to his cold practical experience as that is considered ‘what has passed’, then it would be Edge+Winter like “The Scarred One”. Also, rolling the die could be exhausting to keep track of as for every choice you would have to roll constantly. Just go with the flow and you would have an easier time, and others not familiar with d100 can enjoy without confusion. Other than that, I love how you seamlessly introduce certain cultist simulator principles in an appropriate setting to increase battle tactics. Are you planning, on having a maximum of three principles or a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none? Will you include the five powers or stick with the main principles?🔥

2025-03-20 03:24:48 +0000 UTCSo while waiting for the vote of rage against heaven to pass, I tried to play a little bit with the concept of quests. One of my subscribers wanted me to make cultist simulator story which meant that I of course had to plunge into the lore. Just wanted to write to see if I could and if I could, what y’all thought about it. Also keep in mind that this something I wrote while bored in less than 20 min so it is possible that it would be very much not the same next time I post

2025-03-20 03:21:36 +0000 UTCI fucking despise quests like this. Meaningless numbers everywhere and rolls for every single fucking thing. I genuinely hope you don’t go forward with this, your talents would be put so much better literally doing anything else
