In Severodonetsk, little has changed in the last 48 hours (I picked an excellent time to get sick). Ukraine continues to control about 30% of Severodoentsk. Russia claims to control 70%, but NASA FIRMS show that the city's center remains a no man's land. The line of conflict is at the edge of the industrial area.
Russian forces recaptured Metolkine and Voronove - but it is worth noting that Russia controlled both settlements at the start of the main offensive to capture Severodonetsk. Ukrainian forces still control the airport, Borivske, and Ustynivka to the south and a sliver of Rubizhne to the north.
Zolote is under the most significant risk of encirclement in over three weeks. Russian forces fully captured Komyshuvakha. Ukrainian forces still hold Toshkivka, which is critical to block a potential route towards Severodeontsk.
Finally, the first M777 artillery piece to be destroyed was visually confirmed in Lysychansk.
The war is now a frozen conflict, with Russian forces building defensive positions north of Kharkiv and around Izyum.
Russia lacks troops, and Ukraine lacks equipment.
