Russia-Ukraine SITREP for 24 SEP 2022 23:59* PDT - Ukrainian Breakthrough

Special edition. Because today's podcast is a week in a review and so many things are happening, we are making this report public (which we do from time to time).

Today's report is 70 pages! Two dynamic situations are happening that have forced us to do multiple rewrites and reach the "got to hit publish" point. The first one is on the Kharkiv-Donetsk administrative border, where it appears Ukrainian is rapidly advancing north and northeast, liberating large areas. The Situation Report is likely out of date already. There are also reports of a Ukrainian advance from Vuhledar that has broken through Russian defensive lines. We were hoping to confirm the chatter, but again, we have to hit publish. 

What's the big story? Ukraine has expanded all three bridgeheads east of the Oskil River, and Russian aviation had an awful day.

The second story? We have moved the world a bit further down the path of the Mutually Assured Destruction Instability Paradox and believe we are in worse shape now than in April. However, digging that backyard bunker or moving to New Zealand isn't necessary.
