But, the problem i think is not te money or the costs, both f16 and a10 are really old planes, It IS polítical (never any conuntry had a10 before) and at least half a year of intense training.
2023-03-18 08:07:43 +0000 UTCF16 and warthogs plus antiair capacity that ucranian alteady have, is the end of russian army capacities
2023-03-18 08:06:02 +0000 UTCUnclear - what they may mean is due to the advances from the north and south - which are on the west side of the river - in that respect, it is true
2023-03-17 19:41:19 +0000 UTCUkrainian aviation is doing more than people think, but we don't hear about it much. The environment is air parity right now and these aircraft are more about sustainment. I still believe Ukraine needs F-16 for CAP, SEAD/DEAD and A-10 for CAS using standoff weapons not brrrrtttt
2023-03-17 19:40:36 +0000 UTCCNBC is saying Russia has gained footholds on the west side of the Bakhmutka River. Any truth in that?
2023-03-17 14:11:04 +0000 UTCJust read up on it a bit, both Russia and Ukraine suffered heavy losses to their air forces in this conflict. Ukraine lost about 50% of their air power. They still have a decent amount but strategically I believe it would be unwise to continue with such attrition.
2023-03-17 11:29:14 +0000 UTCThere has been very, very little said about Ukrainian aviation. There was the initial invasion where they were seen to take a large part in the defense, and a couple of pretty incredible clips of dogfights (as well as a few fake ones too). The legend of the Ghost of Kyiv was born and probably a number of pilots, not just the actions of one person. And then there's been the occasional go pro clip of a Ukrainian pilot flying nap-of-the-earth or report of UA aviation carry out air support or an ace being shot down. But there doesn't seem to be any publicity on the scale of their impact or state. Is this due to Ukraine purposefully obscuring and scrubbing the information (likely) or is it just being ignored by the media?
