Housekeeping - Combat Only Reports (Mostly) For the Next 14 to 21 Days
Added 2023-03-19 02:47:37 +0000 UTCOver the next 2 to 3 weeks, we will be doing a stand-down so that some key projects can finally be implemented.
- Finish onboarding volunteers who probably think Sarah and I have forgotten about them. No, we haven't. In full transparency, I wake up around 11:00, struggle to wake up until 14:00, then tell myself that it's OK, I'll write that email tomorrow, stay up until midnight reviewing combat reports and intel, and crawl to bed at 05:00. Today is the sixth weekend in a row I have wasted a perfectly good Saturday sleeping to 13:30. It's not working - and I know there are about 10 of you reading this going, "Well. We're waiting?" So I'm going to focus on making that happen.
- Moving the podcast to a new technical platform. (don't worry, nothing changes on your end, we've outgrown our current provider). A few people know we are having a conversation with a company that is interested in providing some opportunities to us.
- Finally, launching the Patreon parallel site - including merch. Finally.
- Launching the second podcast - finally.
- Relaunching our TikTok channel and bringing our YouTube channel back to life
- Recording interviews that have been delayed and expanding our outreach significantly. We want to do a lot more interviews.
I've tried to do it all, and it isn't working. So I have to step back to bring some people up to speed (or provide them with promised resources) so that the team and I can scale up.
Currently, the battlefield has quieted down, while geopolitics and Russian hand-wringing over readiness for a Ukrainian counteroffensive has exploded. This feels like a good time to enter a bit of an "operational pause" because we are "combat ineffective" and need to "reconstitute." If we keep waiting, Ukraine will launch its counteroffensive (oh, and I have ideas of where - I know - tease).
Major events such as Putin's criminal charges with the ICC, Mig-29s to Ukraine, or Finland's looming acceptance into NATO will still get covered. Mobiks being mobiks or salty Girkin? Not so much.
Once we've launched or relaunched these channels, it's back to full reports. Written situation reports will continue as normal but will have limited coverage for non-combat-related Theaterwide events, Russian Military and Mobilization, War Crimes, Geopolitics, and Economics.
I appreciate your understanding.

I suspect the new UA offensive will be in the Zaporizhzhia area. Of course, I'm not expecting you to confirm or deny that (😜). From a basic 'this is interesting' stand point, it is going to be interesting. Not least because of the nuclear power plant and how that is going to be handled by either side. I'm just hope that Russian forces retreat out of it when they see the writing on the wall, but eh. Who knows. Stragetically, it's the way to split the enemy between north and south and cut off Crimea from the mainland. What I'm really worried about is whether UA have the manpower to occupy such a large frontline in that even until Kherson area is totally liberated. In regards to the rest of your post, and your work. You guys are doing fantastic and you shouldn't ever feel the need to apologise for admitting that you are human, with human limits.

2023-03-19 19:11:22 +0000 UTCI totally get it and you 100% should take the time you need to do what you need to do. But I will miss hearing from our salty, favorite FSB colonel, Kremlin Pariah, war criminal, and failed mobik. Who am I kidding. I just wanted to write out the description.
