Added 2022-12-15 21:27:45 +0000 UTCIf you follow the Russia-Ukraine War through other sources you may remember that in the late summer and early fall there were a series of videos released by the Russian Ministry of Defense showing Lancet kamikaze drones suddenly finding a lot of success on the battlefield. The campaign to show the Russian-designed drones success disappeared as quickly as it started.
Recently, a new video was released and we didn't look at it because it was clearly from the summer months. People with good memories may go, "oh ya" when they see this video an an S-300 installation being hit.
It was a fake.
The new video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense reveals that the drone strike, which they claimed was a Ukrainian antiaircraft site, was actually a strike on an already partially destroyed Russian antiaircraft site in Russian occupied territory.
The geolocation and the big Z painted on the side of a previously destroyed radar vehicle was the give away - remember - this was a Russian video. The difference is the original video appeared to have been recorded with a potato and the new video has better resolution. Someone in the Kremlin didn't watch it close enough.
It gets worse.
The video of a "Ukrainian radar installation being destroyed by a Lancet drone around the same time?
It was the same Russian radar vehicle next to the S-300 launcher.
The Russian site had been destroyed by Ukrainian DEAD activity previously and at the time, the Russian MOD needed a "W" in the face of all the SEAD/DEAD that was happening in August. So they made it up.
This is why we have trust issues and this is why we very rarely share Russian MOD videos.
