Russia-Ukraine Flash Report 07 APR 2023 13:45 PDT - Anatomy of a Fake Combat Video

Three things we learn from this video.

First, the FLOT is possible one block further west than we think.

Second, Seymon Pegov loves making fake combat videos.

Third, his foot has finally recovered, and he runs pretty well for missing a couple of toes.

PMC Wagner captured this area on April 3, 2023, and Pegov and crew ran away from the FLOT on a preplanned and previously checked route. A lot of the combat sounds have been added.

This video does not represent new territorial gains by PMC Wagner, at least not by our previous analysis.

Will be in SITREP tonight - the short version - the Pentagon seems concerned but there is strong evidence they were manipulated.

It's on our YouTube :-)

Is it possible to make this shareable to show a non-subscriber?

Lol. Someone should add white flags.

Speaking of fakes, what are your thoughts on the supposedly top secret Ukrainian documents circulating? I have my thoughts but don't want to break opsec:).

Speaking of, what's happened to the the Chechnyans? DonDon the Dentist has fallen off the radar and his chaps have go e quiet.

Why is the cameraman so far behind? Why is guy 2 not armed in an “active” combat area? Is this a race? Is it typical to run just for the heck of running and not either shooting back or taking cover? Is guy 2running toward “combat” with no gun? If running away, why not just crouch down? Are they trying to desert?

Never looks up, down, or checks corners. No sound of breathing, no sound of footsteps, no sound when they went under the fire fence and through the trees of branches moving, etc. That's when we started to listen to the audio more closely. I wouldn't be running with a gimbal or a Z-axis stabilizer in an area I thought someone might start shooting at me.

Exactly this

It’s always fun when you catch someone doing something you know is fake because you know how to do whatever they tried, better than them. They always forget the details. Like. . . . Wouldn’t this be a go pro on a helmet rather than a stedicam? But the video is rock solid, and the “runner” never takes his eves off the person in front of them. Running in debris like that . . . you would look at your feet every once in a while.

Reminds me of the Chechen “combat footage” from early in the war.

We have equipment that does that - my forearms in 2020 were 100% steel with the stability system I was using during the filming of protests. You can also do some editing to smooth out the camera work.

It does look a little Hollywood!

New intro, nice!

That was awfully steady camera work.
