https://www.rt.com/news/580643-burkina-faso-mali-niger-war/ Saber rattling after the African Union asked the Niger coup guys to stand down. OMG. Wagner is really involved in Mali and Burkina Faso. Not good.

I cannot prove it but it sure does look that the plans for this coup were already launched when Prigozhin decided to rebel.

"Following years of military takeovers in the region, Niger is the West’s last solid ally in the Sahel. But with this coup, and growing alignment with Russia, these relations are in jeopardy." https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-intelligence-from-the-economist/id1449631195?i=1000622912326

I am sure those countries are fertile ground for all kinds of disinformation to be spread in a way that makes people act out. And they will do it for small sums of money if need be. They are even less "inoculated" than we are and the anticolonial narrative has a lot of traction understandably.

Coup supporters attacked the French embassy yesterday and chanted pro-Russian slogans.

The coup in Niger has Wagner's fingerprints all over the place. Not a good situation. In fact, it worries me very much. They produce much of the uranium France uses for powering its many nuclear plants....
