This is Report 480, which is 45 pages and combat only.

What's the big story? Ukraine has said out loud the main offensives are at Bakhmut and in the Melitopol-Berdyansk direction.

What's the second story? Things have taken a very dark turn for the remaining members and leaders of PMC Wagner Group. Only a fool accepts a promise from the Putin Regime.

https://meduza.io/en/feature/2023/08/30/a-special-funeral-operation It looks like they went to GREAT lengths to avoid crowds for the funerals. That alone tells you something, right?

I really appreciate the unvarnished reality that you see in those videos of the Russian and Ukrainian units crossing paths in the forest. What I do not appreciate is when they try to spice it up with a soundtrack. I wish they would just show us or use something more unobtrusive. War is not a videogame. In the end it looks like it was too dangerous to hold public services for Prigozhin, former hero of Russia, now disgraced leader of an illegal entity and traitor. The billionaire turned mercenary is VERY different from someone like Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos and other renowned figures of the Cuban Revolution. But they have in common that they became problematic for the regime once their stature rose to the point where people would take their position into account when judging a situation. Camilo Cienfuegos died like Prigozhin, in a plane "accident". Che Guevara was shipped to Africa and then died pursuing a hopeless attempt to create an insurrection in Bolivia but the conventional wisdom is Castro wanted him as far from Cuba as possible. I would venture it is possible that the legend will soon forget Prigozhin's billions, his money laundering, his bloodthirstiness, and turn him into the unsung hero of the Ukrainian war. At least for some people. Of course the Kremlin will try its darnedest to prevent that. But these things have a life of their own. History is full of them.
