There were two explosions, one at 03:14 and one at 03:20 local time. There are reports of two civilians killed and one injured. There is a graphic video that confirms one injury.
The attack involved cruise missiles or an uncrewed underwater or surface vessel. There are conflicting reports from the Russian side.
Railroad service is suspended, although local officials insist the railroad bridge is not damaged and will reopen shortly. Reserving judgment based on similar claims made on October 9, 2022.
The Kerch Strait Ferry is also suspended, so tourists have been advised they will need to drive from Crimea, through Kherson/Zaporizhia, through Mariupol in Donetsk, and back into Russia.
Local officials are asking residents not to panic buy groceries and fuel, and tourists have been asked to stay in their hotels and not leave until given the all-clear.
