You pretty much figured out what was happening. As you stated, much of this episode is seen from Xander’s point of view. If you notice, the scenes (especially between Buffy and Angel) seem exaggerated, almost overly dramatic, because that’s how Xander sees their relationship. I get why Cordy is so bitter at Xander. She gave up a lot to date him, then he cheats on her. And yes, I am also a huge fan of Faith!
