It occurred to me that it had been some time since I posted a Stat Block for Edge...
Added 2025-08-21 19:22:55 +0000 UTCIf you care to look at BECMI Chapter 136, I have now posted her Stat block at that point in time there (it will also be posted on Royal Road if you are reading public chapters and comments there.)
This was mostly because she already had access to Valence IX spells through Ur-Priest and was already an effective Ten for hit points for stuff. In short, she already had all the stuff, the numbers are just going up.
Be that as it may, she's still made progress, and the combined power of three Casting Classes (totally possible in BECMI, just not usually in this manner!) and the fact she's exceeding mortal limits on some Stats does make her a dangerous powerhouse.
She's got at least twice the total xp of a level 36, but she hasn't actually directly maxed out her own Class levels, because she's bought her Hit Points to Max, and she's buying the elective Feat and Masteries that she's allowed to at every Level, greatly slowing down her progress (she could have been Rank M a loooong time ago). The nature of BECMI is xp is normally split between Classes, and since she put all hers in at the same time, she's basically 'held back' by her Elven Racial Level, which is effectively Attack Rank I, or Elven Sixteen, here.
Remember that her Elven Wizard level was actually gained as a Halvyr Racial Class Virtua Bonus level, and then added to with it and her Human Racial Level bonuses (+3 more Virtua Levels), THEN sixteen Theurgic Levels were heaped on top of it, breaking the paradigm, but as it consists entirely of Casting ability and no other real benefits, it advanced faster than her base Class... but it cannot exceed base Twenty without her also reaching Attack Rank M.
Ur-Priest maxed out at Ten as far as spells/day, and does get her Int bonus for extra spells, unlike her BECMI Classes. All that improves on it is Caster Level at this point, so she's basically taking the Prestige Class of Hierophant for side benefits. The Class's benefits against Outsiders do apply to Immortals!
Ultimately, Edge will be limited to a Twenty in all Classes, which is Elven Attack Rank M, which is approximately equal to 30 in human terms. She can then take 'extra levels', which amount to +1 Caster Level, +1 to Attack bonus, and more skills and Weapon Masteries, but no other options or class abilities improve. This tops out at effective level 36, the same as humans.
Her combo of Classes is thus: Elf, using Sorcerer instead of Wizard as basis; per Hollow World rules, xp for combat and spellcasting side can be advanced independently on both roads; she's using Arcane Theurgy and Mystic Theurgy (with all attendant xp costs) to provide xp to:
-Elven Wizard, accessed by a bonus virtua spellcasting level from her Halvyr Racial Class, improved with another Halvyr level and two Human Levels; as a Halvyr (Elf/Dhampir) she is allowed to take levels in her parent racial classes, despite otherwise following elven rules. Arcane and Mystic Theurge are used to improve it while actually taking her Sorcery and Priest levels, she never actually puts xp into this directly! As a result, this is just a virtua Class that consists of nothing but spellcasting!
--Ur-Priest, using the Shadow Elf rules for Elven Clerics, and the only alternate Clerical Progression that ignores/avoids the Immortals. Use of the Radiance is required to give divine spells enough 'arcane flavor' for the arcane-minded BECMI elves to wield, but Mystic Theurgy also means she can access the fey/druid-linked Halcyon elven magic, and even improve on it. She advances as an Ur-priest by choice, and so draws Faith from the worship of mortals serving Immortals (who can't process the Faith regardless, and have no idea that is what she is doing).
---and High Cryptomancer, which is not really a class, but more a collection of spell-like abilities paid for with xp, coming from the Glantrian Gazeteer. As she gained her Cryptomancer Levels in the distant past and solidified her status there, the normal rule of one High Cryptomancer is not applying here, although she is not known by any but Princess Brittabelle to actually possess the Truename power.
